Nice family restaurant. I ordered Kenyan food because that is what I am used to. It was delicious.

The food and service are incredible. They had something for everyone in the family (vegetarian and kids). The flavors of the food and drinks... amazing. Any time we pass through Columbus again, we will definitely add this to the trip.

I was in Columbus for work and decided to give this place a try. I was not disappointed! They were very welcoming and helped me decide which dish to pick since this was my first time here. The food itself was very delicious and freshly made. I just wish i lived closer so i could come back more often!

My wife and I were looking for something new to try for dinner and decided on African cuisine. Foodateria was exactly the dining experience we were looking to have. The food had excellent flavor and was quite tasty. We started with the samosas, a definite must-have appetizer. We had the Karange Mbuzi (goat stew) with pilau (rice) and plantains; and the Suya Meal with rice and plantains. Both meals were excellent and satisfying. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful family run restaurant. Great service. The simosas were delicious and we got them free since it was our first time here! Highly recommend the Hibiscus tea. It’s made from scratch and was so so good

We were visiting Columbus for a wedding and this place was recommended. We live in Boston MA and the Nigerian options at home do not compare, they are very bland. This food made us feel as if we were back in Nigeria. The spice was perfect and the heat was on point. I can still feel my head sweating. We even got extra food which we put in a cooler and drove back home with us. The food was still amazing a few days later and retained its spice and heat. We understand that they also ship food and we will definitely be placing an order from Boston.

I've found my new food hyperfixation.
I have only tried a couple things so far and I can't wait to go back.
The beef and goat stews are incredible, plantains are perfection and I'm especially obsessed with the coconut soup.
The owners are also very sweet and responsive. Service is excellent.
Dietary restrictions: I'm a celiac and I can eat almost everything here. Except the fried dough balls.

I had wanted to try Nigerian food since seeing a participant make egusi on a PBS cooking show, and then I discovered Foodateria (formerly Wycliff's Kitchen) on the Eater Columbus list. Easy to hop there off 270, easy to park in the shopping strip mall, we got a table no problem walking in early on a Saturday night. The food was delicious - the owner and staff were so kind and helpful to us navigating the menu. We loved everything we ate - egusi, fufu, jollof rice, coconut beans, plantains. It was all terrific. We did the vegan versions because I am a vegetarian - incredibly flavorful and filling. They treated us to delicious cookies for dessert and we packed all our leftovers to enjoy at home tomorrow. Will definitely go back again to explore more of their offerings and take my parents (who are in their 80s) for their first taste of African food and our foodie friends- there is also a Kenyan side of the menu to work our way through, how exciting! I know this will become a new favorite for our family.
Vegetarian options: Almost everything can be made vegan!

Family-owned and operated with incredible food and super friendly service. My husband and I tried the beef samosas, Kenyan beef stew (the lunch special is such a great value), and Yetty’s Egunsi – all delicious! Generous portions of delicious food. Aaand definitely don’t skip the hibiscus tea – it’s unforgettable! Highly recommend!

The food made by the lady was incredibly delicious and tasty, leaving a memorable impression. The customer service was truly outstanding, as they went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Her son, Gideon, was exceptionally polite and served us with such kindness and grace. It was clear that they genuinely cared about our experience, and their warm hospitality made us feel right at home. God will surely bless them for their generosity, especially since they opened for us on a Sunday, a day they usually remain closed. This act of kindness meant a lot to us, as we were visiting from out of town. When I return to Columbus, there’s no doubt I’ll be coming back to visit them again. Their warm service and delicious food have earned a special place in my heart.
