Awesome gyro, great service, good pricing. This place is an institution. I'd even say probably the best Greek food in town. Their hummus is super awesome, get some extra pita with it.

This was the best greek food in columbus, i moved to canal winchester from Westerville and im angry at my self for moving because now i have to drive half way around 270 just to go to yannis... but was so worth it. As of 12/17/24 stale nasty pita, vinegar/garlic sauce is nasty... New ownership going cheap.

Great food. The boss and I were on this side of town and he wanted to stop here to grab some food. He was raving about it. So we entered and it was a cool place. Nice tables and everyone said "Hi" to us as we were seated. We both got the lamb gyro and fries...they were awesome ..super stuffed with meat and that sauce they use is no cap the best sauce..it slaps..so I got a side to dip my fries in. We also got this like a fried cheese thing and it was super good as well. Soda was good!! The staff was super nice and friendly.. will definitely be going back.. talked to the owner for a brief second he was a really nice guy who seemed genuinely happy..I liked the experience and the food. Great job!

Not like it used to be. I understand Yanni retired, but if you're going to buy a restaurant and keep the name and food, it should taste the same. The prices are crazy compared to years back. Sad my favorite place has changed so much.

It appears new the place is under new ownership. From this reviewers perspective, quality has gone done.

We ordered multiple gyros and french fries. First, the gyro meat is different and was not freshly shaved. Had a different taste than before. The tzatziki sauce was more vinegary then before as well. The french fries were overcooked and dry.

One of the workers graciously provided a complimentary hummus and pita. While the gesture was appreciated, neither of us liked the new hummus. We couldn't put our finger on what was different but something was just off about it.

It should be noted that service was great and our waiter was very attentive.

Please (PLEASE!) bring back the original hummus. We've been loyal fans for 21 years and have always compared others' hummus to yours, and in all those years, not one has been considered better. Now, we can buy better off the shelf at the grocery store. New ownership needs to be careful to understand the smallest details that makes this place a Columbus institution.

I’ve been coming here for 20 years and the food is amazing. The owner is such a nice guy and an amazing server as well as very caring about your experience. Today I drove 30 minutes to get there and ordered my food in person it was 30 minutes before close. The lady at the front desk looked annoyed even though it was a $51 order. She had a friend visit her and kept talking about her friend and how they’re in the hospital and don’t have insurance. She keeps talking and packs my food and says you’re ready to go. I get home and see my extra pita is missing and my extra gyro sauce. The pita bread on all gyros is tough and almost burned, and a bit dry so needed more sauce. It’s been the most disappointing experience I’ve had there all because of the front desk lady. Just double check your order before you leave!

What happened here!?! This place used to be hands down the best gyros in Ohio. Been a customer for over ten years. The hummus was thinned out. The French fries were cold, soggy and undercooked. The tomatoes were mushy and old. The sauce was unflavored and runny. The worst part is when I went in for a pickup order. The employee asked “pickup name?”
I give the name.
Then she opens up a door dash order and starts writing up the app order.
After a few minutes another employee comes over and cash’s me out. My order was ready and sitting there. I wanted to give you the money. But the door dash app took precedence over a loyal customer in front of you.

Thought I’d give it one more try and after the second try, it’s definitely not the same Yanni’s anymore. Went here for at least 15 years and sad that Yanni’s name is still in the name considering everything was given to the new owner and nothing tastes remotely the same—really doesn’t have any taste. Definitely going to Koble or King’s Gyros from now on.
