My family and I went to York today for dinner, as we have many times for years. Tonight’s experience was hands down the worst we have experienced ever since we have been going. To start off, the trays and silverware were extremely wet, then the lady that took our order realized there were no salad plates, waited for her to bring the plates back over before taking our next order. Moving onto the salad bar (usually our favorite part) everything was empty including, cheese, ranch, cucumbers etc and what wasn’t empty was not fresh, looked like it had been sitting there from this morning. After waiting 10 minutes for the salad bar to be filled back up (after we had to ask) moved onto to getting our drink, no glasses for drinks, then the employee noticed we were waiting on them to bring glasses out. Moving onto sitting down, there were two waitresses on a Saturday night with a full house they were doing the best that they could, but recommend having more than two waitresses on a Saturday night. She was busy, we had to go get our own drinks twice. Then we get our food, I ordered a medium well steak came out raw, i’m typically the kind of person that can eat a pretty red steak but this was so red I didn’t even want to eat it, my aunt ordered chopped steak topped with cheese and onions- she received it with the the liquid cheese on the side and the onions. She asked if they could put the sliced cheese and onions on top, she got her meal back with the sliced of cheese unmelted, and fries were now freezing cold, sent it back again. To end this off, we have been going here for years and years and discussed not returning. Honestly, we host our family events here, we come here on a monthly basis and we are all very disappointed.
I had a great dinner on Tuesday, 9th with St. Paul Lutheran Church group. I may have lost a gold wedding band (seated at the rear group tables, back left corner). I appreciate the extra searching done by your staff. In case it should be found, please contact me at 614 8782562. Thank for checking and plan to enjoy more dinners with you!! Marie Rehbeck

My family and I used to come in at least twice a month before the new owners came in. Before, the food was at least consistent and good enough for what it was, as well as properly cooked.
I’ve been in 4 times since the new owners took over and it has gone way down hill! Very sad… it was once one of our favorite places to eat.
The meat is cooked differently now, it’s kind of strange…as if the steak is cooked with a lid or cover on it to steam it or something to accelerate cook time…maybe even microwaved?!? My food has been incorrectly prepared all 4 times since coming after the exchange of ownership. Always overcooked with a rubbery “steamed” consistency! Anyone could cook a better steak at home!
Honestly, this is all so shocking as the new owners(whom also own Starliner Diner) do such a great job at Starliner, but York has gone way down hill since the exchange of ownership!

Not sure why. But we have been here multiple times. But the food was just off the last two times we have been. Asked for a medium rare NY strip. Got a very well done NY strip. Salad was wilted. Best thing in the plate was a baked potato

I’m a truck driver so I’ve seen a lot and I’ve had a lot.. This was the worst steak dinner I’ve ever had… It was cooked wrong, not even seasoned, it was so plain that I could taste the freezer burnt… I would not recommend this place to anyone….

Worst steak ever. Dry and thin. It had a weird taste to it. It could have been old. I got sick on the way home. Fries were ok. Salad was good. Super slow service. Went at 12:30 on a weekday. It wasn't crowded at all. I probably won't go back.

My parents used to bring me here back in the 80s. There were a few in the malls until they closed and w broad was the last one in columbus. Im happy the legacy is being continued as its a part of my childhood and so much in columbus is gone. Childrens Palace right around the corner disappeared decades ago before being turned into a furniture store. Sun TV also gone. Some things should be cherished and York is one of those things. Hope to see you all soon again.

My childhood first steahouse. Thankful their still open. I always loved Christmas time there with the train set. My cousin recently purchased York and chose to keep it in tact and add some additional good food to the menu. Makes me proud.

Loved the retro feel. Used to go all the time. Everything was still the same down to the food and atmosphere.
Thank you Aiyanna for being such a sweetheart!! Your kindness literally changed the rating I was originally going to give today.
