“We just live down the street and have been going here for years. Had a bad experiance with over cooked burgers earlier in the summer and quit going. Today we decided to give it another try and we are glad we did. Our burgers were cooked to perfection and huge, very juicy and tasty. The value is the best I've seen anywhere we've been lately. “We are from out of state visiting kids/grandkids. Stopped in for lunch and were getting out of the car to go inside, when one of the staff came out and explained that it was a full car service place. He gave us a couple of menus and explained that we just turn on our lights when we were ready to order. Food came out quick and they hung the tray on the window like I remember as a kid.
We ordered the Galley burger, a cheeseburger, fries, a root beer shake and a strawberry banana shake.
Loved the food. Everything was delicious. The manager came out to thank us for giving great compliments to our server. Will definitely go be the next time we fly out here.“

Today I got the veggie quesadilla - huge portion, AND they had vegan sour cream! They also have a full bar, and a cute patio that will be great in warm weather. “Tried this place for the first time last night and loved it. Higher priced than other places, but the portion sizes are enough for two meals. Everything was freshly prepared. I had the shrimp with pea pods and my husband had the satay beef. The spring rolls were crisp and delicious. Will definitely be back.“

“The only word I have for this place is, “Genius.” They smoked their tofu, created a spicy stout that stays with you in a pleasant way to continue that classic stout after taste and this place has a full vegan menu for those watching their cholesterol. What a killer place. Well there’s word numero dos… “Killer.” 10/10 would poop here again.

Edit: Adding a more serious opinion. This place is specific to their beer menu. Review it before coming in. As a brewer and past wine/brew supplies salesman I would say these beers are artisan and if that’s not for you, consider understanding that before you enter. Mostly stouts and darks, Christmas styles and the like. Unique beyond all means. I had a winter beer that felt like a warm blanket by the fire as I drank it. So if this IS for you, then I’d highly recommend getting in and exploring these beers. I believe the world beer cup has listed several of their beers as “best in the world” and I would agree.“

“The food here is always solid and the servers are a lot cuter than days of past. Go to the north hill location and ask for Brooke n I bet she won’t let ya down! Even after the onion rings were slightly overcooked on the last visit, she replaced them with absolutely no question in an instant and though it took a while to get the replacement order, it gave me a chance to enjoy a meal while talking to her a bit longer. She was very sweet and I have been back a couple times since!“

“Finally made our first trip to Oak and Ember on a Friday evening. We made reservations, so we were promptly seated; oddly, the restaurant was only about half full. We had the burnt ends and cheese curds to start. Cheese curds were pretty standard, but the ends were fantastic - some crispy, some a little fatty, all covered in BBQ sauce.

Main courses were brisket and pull pork; again, both cooked perfectly. Prices were a little high, but portions were very large. Drink prices were also on the high side (4 cocktails came to $64). They have a HUGE bourbon list with different flight options if that is your thing. Wait staff was not very attentive, but not rude as some other reviews have stated. Plenty of menu options (looking forward to trying the meatloaf!), so we will be back.“
