Very expensive for what I had ordered. Food rated average! My pastry I ordered for home was totally burnt on the bottom so very disappointed!

While the food is very good, it is not worth what they charge. Breakfast for one should not cost $39 before tip.....maybe NY, Boston, LA, but Akron ?

Honestly the food is good, probably the best in the area. However I was banned from their facebook for commenting about they pass themselves off as a "family restaurant." Which if were being honest you cant be in the falls and charge $26 of a burger and call yourself a family restaurant.Honestly is a good food but be careful what you say around the owners or you could get banned. It pains me to write this review but under the circumstances I feel compelled to share my experience.Update: The owners response perfectly highlights the problem. I wanted to point out the owner banned me from their facebook just because I had an opinion. I still recommend the restaurant and will even go back on occasion because the food is great. I just think its worth sharing my negative encounter with the owner.Update 2: I have no disrespect for the falls, but I can share my reasoning. The median household income for the falls is about 67k. For a family of 4 getting burgers and sodas the bill is going to be at-least 150? For me that is more special occasion instead of casual Sunday family dinner. I think $150 would be hard to swing on a household income of 67k. Anyways I have no disrespect for the falls and I am embarrassed it came across that way.

Tonight my wife and I went on a date to The Blue Door Cafe. We made reservations for 5pm and were seated right away when we got there. We were greeted with a smile by the hostess and the owners. The waitress was kind and polite. She provided us with excellent service with a smile. I ordered the wagyu steak and my wife ordered the halibut. We got the food in a timely fashion and the presentation was immaculate. The steak was by far the best steak I’ve ever had and even the potatoes were amazing! My wife really enjoyed her meal as well. Everything was seasoned to perfection. We also got dessert and it was tasty! I was impressed by the owners and how friendly they were. One of the owners came over and asked us how our meal was and I told him it was amazing. He got a big smile and you could see the pride in his eyes. That showed me that he cares deeply for this establishment and that’s very refreshing to see. Lastly, we gave the waitress a nice tip to show our appreciation. I could tell how appreciative she was and I hope we made her night. Overall, our experience was fantastic and everything was on point!

My husband and I have come here a number of times in the last 10 years; and this breakfast always delivers. The corn beef hash is probably my personal favorite. Their croissants are also divine - flaky and crunchy on the outside, buttery and soft and chewy on the inside. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The service is fast. If you want to get the coziest/more laid back experience (and if you have the luxury/random day off), I’d suggest coming in on a weekday right when they open. Haven’t been for dinner yet but hoping to try it soon!

Amazing coffee. Croissant are the closest thing I can find to Europe's. Love the idea of putting yourself on the wait list on your way to the restaurant. Can't wait to go back.

The food was delicious and staff very friendly. We got there late, were put on a waitlist but got in and it was totally worth the wait. Can't wait to go back again!

Our waitress was efficient, friendly, kind, and accommodating. I had my SIL in town, who has a very particular palate, and she was thoroughly impressed and pleased with our brunch and coffee.

Walked up to this adorable spot which does indeed have a blue door and could smell the AMAZING scent of delicious breakfast foods! Always a good sign to me. We used the waitlist system to make sure we had a table. This place is poppin' even on a Wednesday morning! Another good sign! The host was very friendly and took us right to our table. It's open and airy inside with a casual, pretty, light setting. The server was super nice and accommodating to all my requests and dry humor. I wanted the mocha in a smaller size with the same amount of espresso --less chocolate milk, less sweet, more coffee, less volume, you know, balanced coffee drink. She fully understood and delivered on the request cheerfully. She brought me a little extra whipped cream too, which I was too full by the end of my meal to finish, but the gesture was sweet. They make that whipped cream in house for sure too- it was delicious and thick! For my meal I got bacon, which was super thick and tasty, and over-medium eggs, which were cooked PERFECTLY first try! The sourdough toast was immaculate and herbaceous which was a fun surprise! They use Kerrygold butter - so cool. The croissant was good too, though they accidentally cut and toasted it, but my server was so sweet she replaced it with a whole croissant and I didn't even ask her to! She was just a gem. My brunch buddy got the Amarillo tamales and they looked awesome! She said they were delicious too but I didn't try them. I was way too full hahaha! tl;dr: 10/10 recommend! Great food, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere. I will be back many times. I'm so glad to find this spot!

Leaving this review to let people know that this place is over-hyped. Based off its reputation and branding, we were ready to have our socks knocked off. However in my experience the perceived value is much more than the actual. I will say that the menu is more creative than most and the atmosphere was appealing (although pretty crammed). The food would’ve gotten one more star from me if It didn’t leave our stomachs feeling ill afterwards. Disclaimer: my perspective is coming from that of a vegetarian. (Based off the greasiness anyone is at risk of a tummy ache-but the food would probably get a better rating from a meat-eater) However for all my herbivores out there --> the vegetarian options were not only less than we hoped, but underwhelming. We both got sandwiches that were more showy than user-friendly, served on an enormous and cumbersome croissant.Vegetarian options: Seldom and un-exciting as far as savory options go. You’ve got some sweeter things, the all too common avocado toast, then one other sandwich-which I went for. The flavor was unique, but the main contents were literally only 1 egg and 3 thick planks of zucchini. We need protein, 2 eggs MINIMUM!To conclude, you’ll find something If you’re going there with friends but if you don’t eat meat I would not seek it out.

Excellent food and service. The owner's son waited on us and he gave us a lot of wonderful information about the farm-to-table ingredients. Order anything on the menu and you will be a happy, happy customer!

The baked items are heaven! Their Croissant -- outside buttery and flaky, inside chewy and flavorful -- is my favorite. Our dinner...beautifully prepared and constructed. The Smashburger with house-made brioche bun, creamy cheese, and buttery onions was a delight. The deliciously creamy Carbonara was complemented expertly with a perfectly prepared, runny egg yolk. The Pork Schnitzel was tender and flavorful. The dumplings divine. Worth the money and a visit. ;) Approved!
