In the past week, I have visited Agnes 4 times to get their turkey burgers on coco bread. Unfortunately 3 of the 4 times they were “sold out”. We are about to break up Agnes. Agnes has become a staple in the community, offering an authentic brand of Caribbean Jamaican dishes. The menu includes jerk wings, cabbage, plantains, a beef patty with mayonnaise jerk dipping sauce, oxtail over peas & rice, jerk chicken, fried fish sandwich, and authentic Trini oxtail stew. The oxtail over peas & rice and cabbage were loved, and the jerk chicken was excellent. The lemonade is really good. The food is described as FYYEEE, fire, hot, fresh, and juicy and tender. The restaurant now features a full service in house bar at the downtown Oregon district location. The carry out game is strong for grab & go. The waitresses are always upbeat and friendly, with one server noted for being above and beyond, professional, and handling a busy shift. It is the only restaurant in Dayton that has food from home, and a must try for a Jamaican beef pattie.
