my FAV bar in dayton. the best bartenders, excellent food. vibes are immaculate.
Spend your money elsewhere, as they don't want it. Last night (Sunday, August 31), a group of maybe 15 GBV fans walked in and were treated with absolute hostility by both staff members from the moment we walked in. It was the last night of Heedfest, the four day gathering of fans from all over the country (we had three Brits, too!) We were joyous. We had more than enough love to spread around. We walked in when there was still daylight, so it wasn't late, plus it was a three day...read full review
The sandwiches are consistently mid. Staffers are very consistently nasty and/or inattentive. One’s experience as a customer, real or potential. is not important to them, as evidenced by their treatment of some non-local friends this week. Decent games, decent beer, but a few blocks away you can get worse beer and better games without being made to feel like sewer rot. Unremarkable on its best day, awful on a typical one unless you’ve been deigned acceptable.

Canal Street Arcade and Deli offers delicious food, including the popular Monster sandwich and Duck bacon wontons. The deli food is excellent and reliable, making it a great place for a quick lunch with a wide selection of deli sandwiches, chips, and soda. Customers often come to enjoy a reuben sandwich, which is considered one of the best in town. The restaurant features a lively atmosphere with lots of old school games and pinball machines, some of which are free to play while others require coins. The pinball is pay to play, but the nostalgic feel created by the video games and pinball machines adds to the fun experience. The place has a good beer selection and offers seating both inside and outside, making it a nice spot to hang out. The friendly staff provides excellent service, accommodating dietary restrictions such as gluten-free options. Drinks like the cosmo, whiskey sour, and the signature dark shadow cocktail are popular. While some customers feel the prices for certain meals, like an 8-inch cheese steak with chips and a drink, are a bit high, most agree that the food, drinks, and entertainment make Canal Street Arcade and Deli a top spot for lunch and a must-visit in downtown Dayton.
