Tried Old Dayton Pizza for the first time today and it was AMAZING! You can tell the ingredients are fresh. The margarita pizza and pepperoni pizza were 10/10. Beth the bartender was extremely friendly and informative (and great drinks). We’ve been looking for a pizza to compare to Western New York and this is it. As a Dayton girl, it’s a sad day to say this beats Marion’s. But SO good.
First time in tonight - we will be back. Great pizza 🍕
came here on a hunch for lunch. everyone wanted pizza and I saw the reviews for this place.
we waited about 10minutes from seating ourselves for service and there was one other table in the restaurant (this was about 2pm so kinda expected). then we were told we would have to wait 30minutes for the dough to be ready.

the service was attentive and kind...read full review

Old Dayton Pizza at Riverside Hideaway offers a friendly and welcoming dining experience. The Riverside Round-Up (Deluxe) and Philly pizza are praised for their fantastic flavors, with the pepperoni being described as the best in Dayton. The fluffy crust, crisp bottom, and well-balanced toppings make this a local favorite. Customers enjoy the garlic cheese bread, Caesar salad, and the kind, passionate service. Many guests have commented on the amazing aroma of the food and the generous portions. The Italian sub is highly recommended, and the restaurant is family-owned and run, providing a relaxed atmosphere. Visitors appreciate sitting outside on the back porch with picnic tables and a fire pit, especially after trips to the museum. The staff is known for being sweet and making guests feel at home. While the inside may resemble a dive bar and might not be ideal for families during busy times, the outdoor area is perfect for a casual meal with loved ones. Some guests have noted that the prices, especially for beer, can be higher than expected, so it’s good to ask beforehand. Overall, Old Dayton Pizza at Riverside Hideaway remains a hidden gem within the city, offering good food, friendly service, and a cozy outdoor setting.
