First, I want to say I really like Salar ... but my last visit was not great. I ordered the scallops and got 4 pretty small scallops that were extremely overcooked and ate like meat for $44. To be fair, I didn't send my food back, mainly because I'm too non-confrontational and feel bad doing that. Regardless, I expect a restaurant of this caliber to realize those scallops should never have left the kitchen. The chef should have known they were dead and expo also should have caught it. I gave the food 3 stars because it's normally fantastic, but my main course on that particular night was 1 star. The empinadas were amazing. I also gave 3 stars for atmosphere, mainly because it's just so loud in the dining room. I sat at a very cozy table for two, but could not hear what my friend was saying, and felt like I had to almost yell for her to hear me.

Great food and great service. My only complaint is that some of the tables are crammed together. It was awkward on Valentine's weekend as the tables were so close in the area I was sat that it felt like we were sitting at a table with strangers. One side was a single long bench and I was maybe two feet from someone else. It was impossible not to overhear all the conversations. Not the atmosphere you want for this occasion.

Decided to give them a second chance after my wife found plastic in their food the first time. They bumped our reservation for another table with more people, refused to admit that they were in the wrong but acted as if we were less important. The front door host had a dismissive and pretentious attitude as if I did not belong there. As a mixed race couple in Ohio, this happens occasionally but I did not expect it here. I called 2 weeks prior and specifically requested the Chef's table, made the reservation, confirmed it, but was not offered to pay $25 deposit, then found out when we showed up that they have given it to someone else. The front door host did not look me in the eye once even though I was polite the entire time. The only thing he repeated was "they have 8 people" and not even "sorry, we double booked". Additionally, the chef's table is advertised for 4-6. But whatever, its not about the money nor food, its about treating people right, never again.
Went for my husband's birthday. Waiter was very friendly. Always on point getting us new drinks, being present without ever hovering. We wanted a slow coursed dinner and he paced our meal wonderfully even though we ordered everything at once. Cocktails were very yummy! Will definitely go again!
