Tender Mercy Reviews
Tender Mercy has taken EXCELLENT care of us the last two weekends as we entertain family from out of town. Last night Dozo (the sushi restaurant inside) was just amazing. Every one in our party of five was blown away by each course. Sake and cocktails were equally delectable and service as always was above amd beyond.
If you’re a sushi lover, put this on your list.
I recently dined at Dozo, the new sushi spot within Tender Mercy in Dowwntown Dayton, and it was a phenomenal experience! Tender Mercy’s already sexy ambiance sets the stage for exceptional sushi offerings, and each course was a culinary masterpiece—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I don’t love sushi, and I consumed every bite, leaving nothing behind.
It was perfect.

Tender Mercy offers a trendy atmosphere perfect for a night out with friends. Located in an underground setting, the ambiance is super cool and intimate, allowing guests to hear themselves talk. The restaurant boasts a wide selection of specialty cocktails, though some customers feel the mocktails are just okay. The staff are always friendly and helpful, providing timely service and great recommendations. The bathroom area is known as a fun spot for taking "drunk selfies."
For sushi lovers, Tender Mercy's Dozo sushi spot is a must-try. The sushi offerings are exceptional, with each course being fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Many diners have praised the quality, comparing it to sushi from Hawaii. Despite some finding the omakase disappointing due to less flavorful fish and flavorless dessert, others believe that even those who don’t usually enjoy sushi may find dishes worth cleaning their plates. The experience in general is described as amazing and delicious, with attentive staff making the visit even better.
The service is outstanding, with attentive staff ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Reservations are recommended, as the restaurant is open Thursday through Saturday and can get busy. The cozy seating makes it easy to enjoy drinks, although some mixed drinks may not meet everyone's taste. A fun feature is the bathroom area, which is known as a popular spot for taking "drunk selfies." Overall, Tender Mercy is an exciting addition to Dayton's local dining scene, appreciated for its unique vibe and atmosphere.
