We went to Amato's to celebrate my birthday earlier this year and while the food was fantastic, their service was lacking. The waitress was selling desserts left and right to all her tables and my husband had mentioned that it was my birthday so she offered us a dessert. Anywhere else, you would think, a dessert on your actual birthday is free, unfortunately, this was not the case at Amato's. The waitress stated that if you wanted a free dessert, you should've gone to Mi Cerrito instead. Mind you, I have been a server and was in the food/hospitality industry for ten plus years and never in my life have I ever charged a person for a dessert when it was their birthday nor given a response such as the waitress gave. Highly disappointed with the lack of service. Will not return to this establishment.

I bet their pasta is really good because the pizza is not. It's coated in some kind of crack dust that isn't addictive and leaves a powder feeling with every bite. Cracker thin but not crispy with a very tomatoey taste. Was the pepperoni good? Sausage? Dunno all taste was sauce. Tried the stinger too (hot honey) no sting at all. If you're in Delaware and want an excellent pizza try another option

We recently dined at Amotos and ordered a $10 pizza. We were surprised to find that there was very little cheese on the pizza, and even more surprised when our bill showed an extra $1 charge for cheese, sauce, and several other basic items. While the extra dollar wasn’t a big deal financially, it felt deceptive to be charged for things that are usually included. For us, it’s a matter of principle—nickel-and-diming customers for ingredients that should be standard isn’t a good business practice. It left us disappointed.

Waited 10 minutes with wait staff walking by and not stopping by to offer us water or even a Hello. Asked for some help and waited another 5 minutes before walking out. Went next door to the Old Dog Ale House where we were greeted and welcomed. Will not be back anytime soon. Too many other good places in Delaware!

Food is good. Had a really good pesto bread, but their service is not the best. It wasn’t my first time there. I’ve been there last year and it took about 1 hour or more to get our food ready, nobody refil drinks or ask if we need something.
Gave it another chance, and after 10-15 minutes waiting, we had to ask if someone could come over to our table to help us - the host forgot to tell the waitress to serve our table.

We went there for the first time today. Ordered a pizza with each half a different flavor and a pasta carbonara but requested spaghetti instead of penne. When we received the pasta it was made with penne and I stated my frustration pretty loudly but the waitress did not acknowledge it. The pasta was great but the pizza was probably the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my life in any shape of form you can imagine, the pizza was sooo thin and quality or taste wise there was nothing special about it.

I went for dinner with one of my friends. It was a full house and we were at very quickly. Our server (Maddie) was great! We ordered the Bruschetta with cheese as an appetizer — the bread was perfectly crispy with a perfect amount of cheese and the tomatoe mix was fresh and savory. For our meals we ordered the Pasta Funghi and the Bianca Pizza. Everything was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. 10/10 thank you!! The outdoor seating area is wonderful.
