Don’t ever place an online order the drive through and everyone and their mother gets their food ten times sooner than you’re supposed to. Waited 35 minutes in the pick up spot for an order that was placed an hour ahead of time. Never again.
To start off, I will say we visited the local city barbecue because it was Dine to Donate night for our music boosters programs. The support for the community is always greatly appreciated!
We knew the lines could be long, and seating sparse, but wanted to support the local store and public school music programs.
However, after waiting in line for 30 minutes, we find out they are sold out of 3 meats, and only serving FROZEN fries?!?! This was a major disappointment to my night! I love the hand cut fries City Barbecue offered!
Without the fresh cut fries, I doubt I will ever be back. Just not the same without those fries and fresh ice tea.

Wow! Came in for a late lunch with out of town guests. Nate Wolfgang and his employees were upbeat and the service was outstanding. We were well taken care of & will be back again!
Kid-friendliness: The staff came our two kids free desserts that made their day.

I love City BBQ! The Delaware location is clean and the employees are friendly every time we visit. I love their corn pudding and low country sauce. I have to have it every few weeks at least!

Never had a bad meal at City BBQ until today. Ordered 2 shredded chicken sandwichs got them home and they were soggy, couldn't pick up without the bun falling apart. Very disappointed

This was our first time to City Barbeque. It was so delicious! We had the brisket and our son had the Nashville chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious, place was clean, and the staff were super friendly. We are from out of town but we’ll definitely be back when we visit again.

Has a drive thru which is nice!
Inside and outside seating is very nice. The entrance is very short to the register and when they are busy you are stuck waiting right outside the “inside” door which is just awkward. Hard to read menu placement, but the seating area is roomy and offers a lot of variety to choose from (high top tables, regular tables, and outdoor picnic tables). Food is ok - think the whole company is changing something. Tea is still one of the best. Prices are much higher than they used to be. Friendly staff - always clean and quick with food!
Vegetarian options: Catering offers black bean burger, not sure if they do in store.
Parking: Lots of parking around the entire building.
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly menu and seating with high chairs.
Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of parking, but will need help sitting inside around the tables and chairs.

Great food and friendly staff. Really cool environment, fun that you can see the smokers and kitchen while eating.

Used to be really good BBQ, but all their attempts to save money by cutting corners hasn't gone unnoticed. Smaller portions. The hush puppies are always overcooked and all the sides taste like they are cooked in old oil. The last straw for me was when they replaced the hand-cut fresh fries with generic food service quality ones. Won't be back.

My son and I went there yesterday for lunch. His chicken sandwich was very dry and stringy, not good at all. The hush puppies were over cooked and tasted like old oil. Very disappointed considering how expensive this place is, $39 for 2 people.
