Upon my entry into the establishment, I was met with an ill-mannered “bouncer” who did not have a marked shirt on rudely asking for my ID. He was not by the door, he was by the windows sitting on a stool, for all I knew he was some random older fellow.My friends and I ordered a few drinks at the bar. Subsequent to ordering drinks acouple of my friends stayed seated at the bar area. One of them attempted to sit down on a stool at the bar and was met with the “bouncer” grabbing the stool from her, telling her she couldn’t sit in the “service area.” He said “have you been to a bar before!?”The bartender was very rude as well. He attempted to take my friends drink that they paid for, and mouthed off at them. As we were closing our tab leave he said “I already have your tip.” Wish that wasn’t case.That was my first and last time at Solar.

Had a great time. Live music was good. The bar isn't huge, which gives it a fun cozy vibe. Bouncer was friendly and made all of us feel secure. Went for their Halloween party, and had a load of fun. Prices are VEEERY good. A very fun bar that will not break the bank, and will make you wanting to go back!

My boyfriend and I found Solar Saloon just over a year ago. Solar Saloon is upstairs from the gelato place of Williams and Sandusky. Upon entering it was clearly a locals bar. We were quickly greeted by Jeannine, the bartender, and promptly received our drinks. We love people watching and listening to multiple conversations. Many of the locals were quite friendly. We knew the beer was cold, the bar was clean and we would back, which we returned many more times. I think we were called Norm a time or two as we are there often.

Old school dart boards during the day. Over sized Jenga at night. Karaoke every Monday. Live Music every Thursday with Open Mic the first Thursday each month. Bloody Mary bar on Sundays! Cool place right downtown Delaware!!!
