You may be in the roof, but unless you're outside, you won't know that, especially after dark. Bar is busy and seems to be the main attraction.

I honestly cannot believe how many amazing reviews this place has. The food was good, but I do not appreciate being rushed at an expensive restaurant. We were told as soon as we sat down we had 1.5 hours and felt rushed the time. My salad was literally taken away mid bite to serve me my entree. Will not be back. There are far too many amazing restaurants in Columbus that allow you to sit and enjoy a leisurely meal - isn’t that half the reason most of us go out?

Took my mother there for her birthday last Saturday evening and I just love the service and the food. Our server was outstanding and was very attentive to our needs. He was very knowledgeable about the menu as well and was able to recommend good options for us to choose from. My mother was quite late to the restaurant, but he always assured me that it was no rush and had a great attitude. They even let us stay a bit past the 10pm closing time without rushing us out the door.

I had been here once before, and the food was consistently delicious both times I went. The fresh-baked focaccia is a must-try for all newcomers, and the broccolini we tried was also spectacular. The pasta was delicious (I ordered the pumpkin filled bowties) but I found the portions a little lacking (in contrast to the sausage ragu I ordered in my previous visit which was heaping). Do note that depending on the pasta dish, you will get either a hefty portion or a very small portion so make sure to ask the server for details before ordering.

The cocktails are interesting and quite nice as well, so this is a great spot to get some drinks and a light appetizer to kickstart a night on the town.

My only gripe with that night I had was that I had mentioned multiple times (In the reservation) and to the server that this was a birthday celebration. The server noted that they would bring out a little dessert for us, but it never came (though this was probably in part due to my mother being quite late and perhaps maybe the server had forgotten, we are all human after all)

Regarding the atmosphere: Some other reviewers have mentioned a clash in the dark-lit room and the clothes of the staff, and I can see those as legitimate critiques. The dining room isn't really that spacious and the design on the walls is very minimalist. The menus and the servers' aprons match (flowers) which was very cute, but there are little rips and scuffs on the pillars near the back of the dining room which kind of seems a bit unprofessional. Overall, a great experience and phenomenal food, would certainly come back for a quick bite or for a more formal occasion without thinking twice.

We had dinner with friends at Speck, a modern Italian restaurant, and it was our first time visiting. I really enjoyed it! My husband and I shared the Chianti Braised Short Rib and the Wedge Salad, while our friend ordered the Crab Spaghetti. The short rib was incredibly tender and flavorful, and our friend loved her spaghetti. The focaccia bread was served hot and was so tasty. The service was excellent, and the ambiance made for a great dining experience. I can’t wait to go back on our next trip to Columbus!

We went back about a year later, and the food wasn't as good. Crudo was too salty from too much rock salt sprinkle. My husband had a bite of one wing - thr wings were too limey and lacked flavor. Pomodoro pasta was not bad. Our server was friendly, though.

Specktacular contemporary Italian in Columbus. I’ve had dreams about the Bone Marrow dish since our server scooped it onto my plate. At this point, I consider Speck to be the best Italian restaurant the arch city has to offer.

[EDIT] Speck continues to impress me each visit with their well curated menu and impeccable service from the bussers to the manager. Other stand outs in the menu include the Focaccia, Scallops, Short Rib and Gem Salad. Ethan and Reyhan were prob some of the most speedy yet attentive service I’ve experienced at any restaurant in the city.

Loved our experience! Cocktails and food were all delicious - we especially loved the focaccia appetizer and cacio e pepe entree. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Can’t wait to be back for our next celebration!

Great experience all the way around. Only issue was the 3% charge added to the bill for team member insurance. No customer should be charged 3%of their bill to pay for YOUR employees health insurance. Unbelievable that you do that ! It is actually illegal if you dont inform the customer . You will loose customers quickly by doing that. We will not return.

We had such a great experience at Speck! The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night, and I realized I had made our reservation for the wrong time — an hour later than we arrived. Jasmine was absolutely wonderful and such a vibe. She was so kind and welcoming and went out of her way to get us seated right away despite the mix-up. Her hospitality really set the tone for the evening. The atmosphere was amazing, and the service overall was top-notch. We’ll definitely be back!

Came here after multiple recommendations, however, the food was a bit underwhelming. The mussels and focaccia bread were the best, I would recommend those to start. But, for our entrees, the gnocchi for the bolognese was overdone and the sauce was bland; the bone marrow pasta also lacked flavor.

I’d be willing to come back another time and try some different dishes, but I can’t say that I recommend those two at the very least. But it’s still very nice inside and the staff were great.

First time going into Speck, and the experience did not disappoint. Started with Caesar salad, wings, and focaccia bread. All incredible.

I didn’t get a picture of my pasta, but I would order anything on their menu. 10/10.
