This is my very first time eating here and the food quality and service is great! To be honest, I’ve never been a big sandwich fan buttt I decided to try The Rutherford. The cashier was very friendly and recommended some sandwiches I should try. The food is hot and every topping is sooo flavorful. Also, the atmosphere is very chill. The music is quiet and the interior is well decorated. I will definitely come back with friends!

My husband and I ate here for the first time today and loved it. Clean and pleasant atmosphere. I had the Rutherford and hubby had the BLT. We both loved our sandwiches. Someone else there mentioned they liked the Southern Peach sandwich with Hickory Ham and peach. I am not much of a sandwich person but I look forward to trying some of their other sandwiches. They have several different kinds.

Did a breakfast wrap of turkey and scrambled eggs. Very tasty. Staff was friendly. It would be nice if they did espresso, but they only do coffee. Would be nice if the logo on the front window didn't block the view from the front window as much as it does. Overall a great place for a breakfast sandwich. Open on Sunday morning.

I highly recommend this Cafe. We ordered 20 sandwiches for Mother's Day. From the point of a phone call for information, to ordering just 2 days prior, to picking up on Sunday...the customer service was excellent! The sandwiches are incredible, with fresh and generous ingredients! Our favs are the Rutherford, Twisted Club, and Chicken Salad....but all were delicious! Thank you for a great experience and great food!

It has a very cozy, rustic and historic vibe that aligns with its name of our former 19th president.
It is close to my workplace and a good option when I’m not wanting fast food.
The food was okay, but the service is best.
The quaint atmosphere adds to the ambiance of the cafe. Personally I think their rating is pretty on point to their service and quality.
If you like paper straws, they have those, if you don’t like paper straws, take one for the team, try them out and save the turtles.

Order to go for lunch and I have yet to have anything I dont just love. Beef & balsamic. Going Clubbing & Lox Bagel are a few of my favorites. Also, love how easy you can change/swap breads and cheeses. Half sandwich options are super affordable.

The restaurant, both named after and adorned with memorabilia of Delaware’s most famous resident, 19th President Rutherford B. Hayes, has a cozy, rustic atmosphere. The interior is small with a limited amount of seating, though I had no trouble finding a place to sit as they were not very busy. The café has a good selection of health-conscious breakfast and lunch foods, of which I tried the Gouda Morning sandwich. The sandwich was of average quality and not very filling. The self-served coffee, provided by Backroom Coffee Roasters, was also of serviceable quality. The staff were friendly and the wait time for food was not an issue. In all, the restaurant has a very good presentation while the enjoyability of the food itself leaves a little to be desired.
