“Shepherds pie and Irish Kettle entrees were excellent ! Wait was quoted at 35 minutes but was nowhere near that long- only drank about a fourth of my beverage before a table opened up. Food came out quickly and was really good. Will definitely be back!“

“It was super loud right by the bar, but otherwise, it's a nice atmosphere. The fried goat cheese and chicken lollipops were delicious! The Silk and Soice red wine was fantastic. Our entrèes were a little underwhelming, but it was our first time there, so maybe we were expecting more? Menu is limited.“

Murphy McFlips Bar • $
1037 Polaris Pkwy, Columbus - 7.12 miles

“Every so often I need to leave my family to go see a man...an Irish man...named Murphy. It's a dive bar, but the type of dive bar with a 10.0 average from a panel of seven (7) judges. The bartenders love to be called "babe" and will remember you in subsequent visits if you know that. The touch tones juke box is a revolving mix of rap, county, classic rock, and T. Rex - Get it on (bang a gong). Listen, when I'm at Mcflips, I ALWAYS use 3 credits to bump T. Rex to the front of the queue. And if we are really being honest here, I do it for Steve Winwood too. Hell, on a Tuesday I'm using 9 credits on Rattlesnake by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard!!!! And that's what I love about America/Murphy Mcflips. The ability to pay more on tunes and less on beer. And to launder money into "credits" that ditch people in line because I'm more important...but for whose benefit? Certainly Steve Winwood's. Certainly every girl named Valerie. What a d*** 80s name!? Certainly to my benefit. I can only hear Lizzo so many times before succumbing to so many hyper-body positive vibez that I overdose on laxatives. But most importantly, certainly Murphy mcflips, my first 5 star yelp review. Because whether your wrestling your friend on the patio or drinking alone to face the harsh reality of fatherhood, when you're at Murphy mcflips, you're family!“

“Mac's Proper Pub has been on my radar for a few years because my best friend took me there to try the sauerkraut balls, and I've been going back to have them ever since then. Recently I discovered that they have a great happy hour which includes half off apps and specialty cocktails, so off I went to have a dinner of apps. My order included scotch eggs, fried brie, spinach and artichoke dip, chicken fingers, and of course the sauerkraut balls. The scotch eggs were tasty-- served cut in half with a dipping sauce, and they were better than any scotch eggs I've had in the past. Crispy and delicious, especially with the gluttonous cream cheese dip. The fried brie is also very tasty-- served with slices of toast and definitely not as stinky or strange as brie can often be, more palatable because it's fried with a crispy outside. This is a great 'intro fried brie' for those who it may be too strong for normally. The spinach and artichoke dip is yummy and served with interesting sliced curly-esque fries. I loved the fries I just wish there was a bit more dip so I wasn't left with so many extra fries and nothing to dip them in. The chicken fingers were pretty average. Not a whole lot to say about those and probably wouldn't order them again. I also wasn't a fan of the sauce they were served with. The sauerkraut balls did not disappoint as usual-- sauerkraut and sausage all wrapped together and served fried with ranch(?) to dip them in. I'm not crazy about the dipping sauce but the portion is pretty large-- it comes with 6 sauerkraut balls that take at least 2-3 bites to finish. The bar itself is long and slender with an incognito room with a pool table in the back that I just noticed on this trip, despite having been there many times before. I'll definitely be back to blow off some steam with a game of pool during happy hour soon.“

“This is the newest Old Bag of Nails and is certainly worth checking out. It's a spacious restaurant with an old-English vibe (unlike some of the others I've been to and my favorite thus far). The food was satisfying, and the service was great. I got the french onion soup and a side salad while my BF ordered the fish and chips. We came on Sunday for lunch, so it all worked out well for us.“
