This Fairfield location of Captain D's is impressive. The two fish I ordered were fresh and hot, and not like another location, you allowed to dine in. Didn't disappoint me at all.

I was literally attacked by gnats the whole time I was there which is gross they drop feces when they land on anything. Gotta get the bug problem under control.

Ok the clam strips were good but the fish was mushy and looks like the breading is old. The fries were not good hard mostly and the hush puppies were cold.

Labor Day evening, my Mother was wanting their giant fish sandwich. She remembered how tasty it was and had not had it for a while. She was not disappointed! And my country style catfish platter was delicious! Can’t leave out the sides which I had broccoli & fried okra……yum! My Mother wasn’t crazy about the green beans. She’s a country girl and likes her green beans “doctored” up. I’ll take them either way! I found them to be different but very good. I had to complement the two pleasant young girls working for the cleanliness of the restaurant. Though, it is an older establishment, it was clean & orderly. Our mission was accomplished! ☺️

I was at this Caption D August 13 at 3:00pm their service ok this time it was worse we tried that garlic fish and shrimp and coleslaw hush puppies. The coleslaw was warm and nasty. I didnt care for theirs new item on menu. Wasted money. The Manger came out from he kitchen with a gun on his hip. Trying to get someone headset to work. I won't be back . I have been getting Monday Tuesday special.

We call this place Belly Busters jokingly. Food tastes really, really good with the fish being the standout star of the show. But, after a meal, I feel like I've eaten an epic amount of food when I haven't really. The hush puppies are nice but are super dense.Fries are good and the Mac and Cheese was pretty good too. They have plenty of malt vinegar, ketchup, cocktail and tartar sauce available in the dining room for those that need.The dining room needs some love. It's a bit tired and in need of a makeover. The nautical theme works, but the seats and tables need a refurb along with the ceiling.Great food and service from the team let down by a tired dining room.Parking: Getting off the road into the lot requires low speed so as not to ding your bumper, but other than that plenty of parking at the front and right hand side of the building.
