The waitress was very friendly & provided excellent service. Food was delicious and moderately priced. There was not a lot of traffic when we bidited so the pace was slower & it was quieter than usual.
Had the Meatloaf and it wasn't as good as it used to be. Also menu price does not appear to have been updated for many years, it is almost double what the menu posted online says and only got 1 piece, not 2 like the online menu states. Please update your online pricing.

First time seeing it since they got rid of the pool table years ago. The remodel is really nice. Generally liked most of the food. We missed brunch by like 3 minutes sadly (11 am cuttoff). The pulled pork was delicious, and the pulled pork mac and cheese balanced Savory and sweet quite nicely. Specifically barbecue sauce was not overwhelmingly sweet which I find can often be a problem with bbq. I loved whatever sauce they put on the smoked nachos which was delightfully Tangy. I will say however 16.47 was absolutely excessive for a plate of nachos which had maybe half a theigh of chicken on it and honestly it did not have a smoked taste to it. The french fries tasted as if the oil was old although they did have a good crispy texture. I'm told this place does a lot of events such as trivia, and they often have live music. Apparently once a month they also have a brunch buffet. Did not get my old go to of the meatloaf sandwich, but I remember it being pretty good. They have a Star Wars Mandalorian pinball table which is pretty neat. Generally I'm glad I gave it a try. Did not get a chance to try the cocktails this time but I'm told they're pretty good.

Everyone I talk to says they have the best meatloaf so i ordered a whole one to take home. It was the worst thing I have ever tasted. Nobody in my family liked it. I threw it out.

Had a large group for lunch. We ordered appetizers, sandwiches, shrimp platter and kids meals. Appetizers were typical, nothing spectacular. French dip sandwich was very good. Shrimp platter was average. Smoked wings were excellent. Kids mini corn dogs average but the mac-n-cheese was cold (just a mictowave prepared dish). Server was friendly, quick to meet needs and helpful. Overall, an average diner but their personally prepared items, like the smoked meats, are great.

Fern cafe has great food, good service, the restaurant is nice but the guest made me feel out of place. This doesn’t seem to be a town that sees African Americans often. I felt out of place the first time my husband and I went 2 weeks ago. The waitress was sooooo sweet and friendly! However, the other customers stared like I had a unicorn horn on my forehead. The second week I went I didn’t get the same warm Feeling from the waitress. She seemed nice but forced to take good care of my co-worker and I. Although she was nice and smiled a lot, the other guests made me feel so uncomfortable. I’m not saying this town doesn’t like African Americans, I’m saying some people make it obvious that want to know why you’re in their town? Relax, I’m Only here for a few more weeks .

Asked if the patio was open. So I was there for brunch in the nice weather. Broughy my breakfast burrito which was good. No one checked on me. Had to go in to pay my bill. That's why I have a 1 star for service. I'll still go back because it's been better with past experiences...
