I had tomato bisque and grilled cheese & bacon & tomato. My cousin had the fish & salad really good. Nice and crispy the fish. My hubby had the corn beef and cabbage he said it had a really good flavor. The vegetables were still hard though.

I called ahead to see if it would be busy. I was told yes but not too bad because they have an upstairs. I asked if we could eat upstairs and was told yes. We got there and the hostess did not greet us. She stood and stared at us. I was taken aback but finally asked politely for a table for two upstairs. She said “it’s full” and didn’t speak to us again. She didn’t ask if we wanted a booth or table, nothing. Someone else came up to tell her there was a table open. Then she walked away, and we followed hoping we would be led to a table. We were led to a tiny table that was too close to other tables. The waitress was fine. Definitely not chatty but she was efficient and filled our drinks. This will sound like an exaggeration but the food was so terrible that my husband said he would rather eat at home from here on out. We go out for birthdays and anniversaries instead of giving gifts but not never again after this birthday dinner disaster. The appetizers were at least edible although the fried pickles are cut much too thick and the pretzel was incredibly salty. He ordered the fish and chips. The fish was bland, it tasted like nothing. Fish batter needs things like onion powder, garlic, lemon, white pepper and old bay. It tasted like water and flour. It did look pretty and golden though. His meal was supposed to come with a side of coleslaw. They gave him a little paper ketchup container worth of it. Which was fine because it was completely dry and flavorless. The tartar sauce was very runny and had no traditional tartar sauce ingredients. It really looked and tasted like mayo thinned out with water. As bad as his was, mine was the worst. I ordered a cod Reuben with house made potato chips. The potato chips were good. The rye toast was burnt black. That was the only flavor. The sauce, fish, and coleslaw tasted like nothing. It was so burnt that my husband who dislikes complaining about food for any reason told me to go ahead and send it back. I didn’t because I thought it would take too long. I choked down half the sandwich and my husband ate a piece of the fish then we left. He had us get a box to be polite to our server. We didn’t eat any of it later. For a 70 meal, I would expect at least mediocre food.

What an amazing dining experience! We celebrated my daughter’s birthday and they gave her a delicious dessert of her choice. She commented that the pasta with lemon, chicken and asparagus was the best she’s ever had.

Was passing through and looking for a place to eat after shopping at Jeffreys Antique Mall. Partner got the rueben and she said it was in the top 3 ruebens she's ever had (thick corned beef). I got the rueben with veggie patty and coleslaw and thought it was great. We had the waffle fries and asked for the horseradish sauce for dipping them in. It was so good, that we actually stopped and ate there again on the way home. I got the Boxty dinner (potato pancakes, cheese sauce, green beans and salad), she got the steak with mashed potatoes, onion gravy and green beans. All things were on point. We would eat there again and again whenever we happen to be in the area or passing through. Nice selection of beer too.

Hands down the best seafood chowder I have ever had. The extra care put in to sauteing the shrimp last was noted! The hand cut fries were delightful!

Was sat, waiter got my drink order and took awhile. This is understandable because it's a Friday and it could be busy(having been in the industry before) but another table was sat and then he took their initial drink order. They get their waters and got their alcohol order taken. Then the waiter goes to the manager to talk...I walked out.
