My daughter and her friend made reservations weeks in advance for their college graduation, knowing that restaurants would fill up quickly. The reservation was for a large group. ( more than 10 people) They were NOT NOTIFIED when the restaurant closed for renovations and moved to a take out only location. We were left with no place to eat on the night of U of F graduation AND prom! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
Always great, entertaining chefs and very competitive pricing. The only reason for the 4 stars on the atmosphere. Is it's always busy as hell. I believe Findlay could use another restaurant on this style.
Great food, excellent service
I always love going here. Samurai dinner and Tokyo boat are my favorite
Every single time I order take out from here they leave out something. Even if I am specific that I need yum yum sauce on the side with my Hibachi! When you go in and eat it comes with yum yum sauce for hibachi but when you’re ordering takeout for some reason it doesn’t. I have ordered so many times and truly have tried to give grace for mistakes but this is consistently getting it wrong. No sauce for some burnt shrimp was it for me. I will for sure be taking my business elsewhere!
Good was so good and plentiful. We had a group of 4. Hibachi came with miso, salad with ginger dressing, fried rice, noodles, grilled veggies and the meat of your choice. Good showmanship too!
This place NEVER disappoints!
Standard Japanese steakhouse and fair. Got sushi and bento boxes. Good food all around. Not OMG level, but good quality.
Food is okay staff is great they could update the inside of the restaurant
Used to eat here often when I lived nearby. Best unagi hands down. Portions were quite large, so plenty to take to work. Not the cheapest place, but well worth the money.

Clean great service , great food and very good.
I've noticed over the years that the show part of the meal just gets smaller and shorter, where they barely do anything anymore. Most of the fun stuff they used to do, they don't do anymore, can't show the grandkids.
We had the scallops / lobster (2) on 10/2 for my birthday , everything was great except the lobster in the meal it was so over cooked and even charred that it was not good at all !! Which was disappointing because the rest of the meal , the service and atmosphere were awesom , for 31.99 that was a huge disappointment

Disappointing, poor quality food and terrible service times (my wife's dish arrived 15 minutes later) we definitely won't be back

I'm afraid Tokyo has lost it's touch. I've frequented this place since I moved here in 2015. Much better than food Japan west and cheaper to boot. We used to go once a month at least. Food was phenomenal and service was great as well. I'd never had a negative experience at Tokyo, until recently.
The past 3 times I've been, over the course of the past summer, it's been absolutely terrible. Service, food, everything... all 3 of these instances were during slow times. They were late night on weekdays where there was roughly 1 staffer per patron.
We ordered our sushi and noodles at 8:30 once and we couldn't even eat our noodles in the resturaunt because they got them to us so close to closing time (10:00). This was the first negative experience, but it was an issue with the server and we gave her the benefit of the doubt because we'd never seen her there before and assumed she was new. We even disregarded the lack of responsibility she took for not being on top of things.
The next time we tried it, service was normal, but the food was bad. Especially the noodles which is personally one of my favorite menu items.
The last time we tried it, and possibly the last time we will try it, food and service was crap.
Overall, it seems like management is letting the place go and it's a sad sight for those of us that have been regulars for years.
