Loved this place. Old character filled house converted to tavern. Cool bar upstairs. Friendly helpful Servers. I'll be back. Nice break from wineries.

Nice array of app & meal menu options that were excellently prepared. Cocktail options were equally varied & tasty. The upstairs bar provided a neat atmosphere & view. All the servers were friendly & attentive.

Black Door Tavern has become our favorite place when we’re looking for upscale small plates and old fashion inspired drinks. The beautifully restored farmhouse creates an intimate setting while the friendly staff and knowledgeable bartenders provide a wonderful service. The chef is a true artist who is always creating new menu items.

3rd time I’ve been here. Just wow! I had Bang Bang Shrimp all three times. Absolutely superb! Today we added the Crispy Brussels sprouts. A must order as the creamy sauce, the crispy texture and sweetness of the roasted Brussel sprouts was amazing. The cocktails are so creative and tasty.

Service was great. Food was otherwise. Ordered petite tenderloin but short rib presented. Lobster pasta was all pasta with a crude crema sauce. I believe they hope patrons visit the bar first. Atmosphere was outstanding.

The host was very friendly, the waitress not so much. We were asked if we wanted our smash burger medium (?) And it was served on a regular hamburger bun and not a brioche bun as advertised. Loved the atmosphere of the building, wouldn't come back for the food.

Limited menu for supposedly having an Executive Chef… great service & atmosphere for the Grand River Valley.

This was my first time here, and I wish I had visited it sooner. I have seen the building, but I had no idea what it was. It's a cocktail bar in the middle of wine country. I absolutely love the atmosphere here. The lighting is very dim. They have a good menu selection. The drinks are good. The staff was very nice. I will definitely stop back.

Amazing food, we had the smash burger, pierogies, and sumac roasted chicken. We shared the three and I can say that you will love it. We doubled the pierogi order, a necessity unless you want a snack. Portions are small and delicious.

My wife and I decided to try Black Door for dinner on a Friday. We’ve been to Red Eagle many times and have wanted to try this place out for awhile. Definitely glad we did. The house is over 100 years old and has been preserved very well. We were seated downstairs at a table The ambience is very cozy and the service was top notch. We tried a couple small plates and shared an entree. The bang bang shrimp was fantastic with so many different flavors. Our chicken entree with butternut squash and potatoes was phenomenal. Our waitress says the menu changes frequently so we will be back to see what’s new. All the food was freshly prepared. We decided to go up stairs to the bar for dessert and a nightcap. Again, a very cozy atmosphere with about 12 barstools and a couple tables. Bartenders were very friendly. A great experience and will be looking forward to next time dining there
