This place always had good service and really good food. Unfortunately, it closed in 2020. This is now another diner.

This is now known as The Hometown Diner. Our server was very friendly and the food was pretty good would definitely go back when in the area.

Absolutely amazing food. I’ve been here several times and they NEVER disappoint. Order whatever you want, you won’t be disappointed.

The Rueben sandwich was good, but the onion rings were burnt. Service was good. Prices were below normal for such a big sandwich. Overall it was good and I'll be back.

My brisket was pretty good. Was a bit warm inside and the pop machine was acting up! But i would go again!

So friendly, we felt like 'family' even though we were just passing through. Great service and lots of delicious food for the price. If you don't know what to pick, just ask your server for guidance. We ordered Tex-Mex corn muffins (just enough zip); pulled pork egg rolls (SO good- next visit we'll ask for the blackberry bourbon BBQ sauce to be drizzled on top); and a walleye sandwich (delicious, on a sub roll) with french fries (dusted before frying - very good) and cole slaw. We made great choices for 2 hungry people, and still had a little to take home.

Several local family members told us the restaurant changed its name to Hometown Diner. (A rose by any other name is still a rose and one thing is for sure, regardless of the restaurant's name, the food was beyond tasty! My meat sampler had pulled pork, sausage, chicken wings, and brisket. I enjoyed it. The sauces enhanced the meats even more. (Of the sauces, my wife particularly liked the blackberry while I preferred the apple.) However, I couldn't stop eating the seasoned fries! I can't remember any that have been better. Service was very friendly and we were treated well, meeting all our requests. There were a few minor issues (why the rating is 4 - though the food was 5). 1) the menu offered ribs (my 1st choice) but they weren't making them anymore 2) the building was dated and dark (poorly lit) 3) restroom was needing some work I wish I lived near enough to be a regular patron. I would eat here often. Enjoyed it!

The pulled pork, brisket and blackberry/bourbon barbecue sauce was delicious! Staff is really friendly. We also had the peanut butter pie! Yum! Just a place that makes you feel really welcome!
