It’s now called Mill Run Ale House. So just last night December 20 we had a party of eight show up for a birthday party. We did not have reservation and we met at 6:30 PM. The place was absolutely packed, which was great to see.. not an open seat hardly in the house. We were initially told by the host that it would be close to an hour before we could get a seat. As luck turned out, we were sat approximately 20 to 25 minutes later. And honestly, from that point things went downhill. After we sat at our table, honest to goodness it was literally 20 minutes before anyone even showed up at the table to take a drink order. In our opinion, the restaurant was significantly understaffed last night. At the 20 minute mark the waitress did take our drink order brought a round of drinks back to the table and then told us appetizers were on the way. 30 to 40 additional minutes had passed still no appetizers brought to the table. As the place starts to thin out 730-745pm, thought process of our party is that our service level should improve now that things are starting to thin out, and people are starting to leave. We were wrong. At approximately 8:15 PM the waitress came to our table and she informed us that there would be no more food coming out of the kitchen tonight. So yes in a nutshell we arrived at 6:30 PM. We were sat around 7 PM at approximately 8:15 PM, after not receiving appetizers or ordering meals, the waitress informed us there would be no more food coming from kitchen tonight. Needless to say we were all pretty disappointed, grabbed our things and left. They did comp the current round of drinks that we were all drinking while waiting for service. Definitely a bit of a bummer because we had all been to this place numerous times in the past with positive experiences and positive feedback. Last night, December 20, 2024 was certainly a bit of a black eye for this establishment. I hope they can get things turned around going forward.

My boyfriend love trying new spots around town; we cane to Hales a couple of months ago and I have absolutely nothing but positives to share. We ended up making this our “Sunday Spot”. Nicole, the best bartender out there, is the cherry on top. She goes above the mark to make sure you feel like you’re in a family-oriented environment.

The food is absolutely incredible and most of everything is made fresh in house (trust me when I say this is the best restaurant food I’ve ever had). We try something new on the menu every time, and nothing has disappointed. The Stromboli is a must, all of their pastas, literally everything.

*I very seldom leave reviews, and wanted to keep this place to myself, but Hales deserves a 6/5.*
**100000/5 stars for Nicole because she genuinely deserves it.

Great food! The menu is varied. Generous portions. Pasta is outstanding. Everything we've had is delicious. The new owner is really nice. Plus Nicole is our favorite server. Please, support this local eatery.

Ate there tonight. Burger for me, sub for my wife. Her sub was not good, my burger was dry and over cooked. Great place to drink and watch a game but not a good place to eat w friends. Oh yea, 100% high tops and I hate high tops. The owner was kind enough enough to heat up the outdoor with low tops but who wants to eat outdoors in late November? Seriously? I’ll never go there again

Its newly decorated and quite nice. It's brighter, and more modern. Cajun dry rub wings are some of the best dry rub Wings I've ever tasted. Food was very good, especially the soft pretzels. All in all was a very good experience. However, many items on the menu were either not available, or have they had sold out of.

Hale’s Ale is no longer, it is now Mill Run’s Ale House. This used to be my favorite restaurant, however, the menu has changed and so has the food. The new owners are very nice and the service is great but the food isn’t the same, especially the fries. We’ll miss you Hale’s Ale!

Great updates. Really enjoyed it. The food was fast, hot, and delicious. The beer selection is probably even better than before the renovation.

Started out with server attitude - she did not want to be there. Burgers were terrible. Sent back 2x. Not made fresh. Either airfried or microwaved. Thick crust, extra well-done but not warm. Was not offered a discount or refund. Bad service, bad food. Will never go back.

This pub is recently under new management. Everything on the menu is homemade. The wings are AMAZING! They are big, saucy, and cooked 3 times- fried, sautéed and grilled. The atmosphere is so great! The decor is comfortable but sophisticated. The owners are 2 brothers, and they are friendly and kind. Our servers were making. I'm definitely going back.

I’ve been going to Hales Ales for a few years, enjoyed the food, service and prices! New ownership doubled the prices, I had the worst Reuben I’ve ever had very little meat, stringy and very little flavor! My daughter bought a gift cert for $100 and they would not honor it! Never again too many other good places!

This is under new ownership and is now called Mill Run Ale House & Beer Garden. My husband and I came expecting Hales, but we were blown away by the updated space and food!! It was truly some of the best food we’ve had in the Columbus area. Absolutely recommend checking it out!
