My husband and I ate here several times during our stay in Hillsboro, and it was all so good! The staff were very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is great, and they have lots of unique coffee drinks to try. Two of our favorites were the banana nut macchiato and cinnamon toast breve. For the food, the breakfast sandwich is incredible, and the pancakes are so fluffy and delicious. My husband loved the huevos rancheros and the breakfast burrito. Also, the cookies are soft baked, which I prefer, and the flavors were great. We wish we could take this cafe home with us!

What an outstanding brunch experience! Every dish exceeded expectations. The Eggs Benedict was flawlessly executed - perfectly poached eggs with rich hollandaise over fresh English muffins. The Blueberry Lavender Mimosa was a delightful surprise, offering a sophisticated twist on the classic with beautiful floral notes that complemented the fresh blueberry flavor. The Biscuits & Sausage Gravy was pure comfort food perfection - fluffy, buttery biscuits smothered in rich, well-seasoned sausage gravy that tasted homemade.
But what truly made this meal exceptional was our server Nicole. From the moment we sat down, she was incredibly welcoming with a genuine smile and warm personality that made us feel like valued guests. Her service was remarkably efficient - drinks arrived quickly, orders were taken promptly, and she checked on us at just the right intervals without being intrusive. Nicole clearly knows the menu well and offered great recommendations. Her positive energy and professionalism elevated an already great meal into a memorable dining experience. We'll definitely be back, and we hope Nicole is working!

We had breakfast. Wife had pancakes that were very tasty but on the small side for what you’d find in a mom and pop restaurant. Syrup was delicious as they make it themselves. I had the CYO Scrambled eggs and potatoes. I’d order this one again. I was very happy with it! Chorizo is tasty and not too hot at all!
My wife had a classic mimosa ($9) and needed to ask for more orange juice as it was heavy on the tart champagne. I ordered a house coffee which I could tell was decently fresh, no weird burnt after tast, however, it was on the sour side. I also ordered a cappuccino. The espresso was also on the sour side. This indicates under extraction. The milk foam needs to be worked on as well. $4 for a cappuccino is about the right price BUT these drinks should be skillfully made.
Disclaimer: Our profession and livelihood is coffee so I only say this as advice from one professional to another… perhaps allow your employees watch some YouTube videos on steeping milk, dialing in espresso, then let your employees practice.
Overall we would return again!

This place has really good food. I enjoy their brunch on Saturdays. I would highly recommend the eggs benedict. Their prices are fair and I think fit with the food you get. I don't like coffee and have not tried their specialty coffees, but they sound amazing.
They also have a rewards program to earn points when you buy something from their.
Our family loves this place. It's very unique, food is delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. We always recommend Sassafras to friends and family visiting the area.
