I've always enjoyed going to and taking my family to Whits. They have a great product and I have always highly recommended their product to all of my friends/family, being sure to recommend it as a must stop before leaving town to my out of town family/friends. However, I, along with some family of ours, had a bad experience that left us in a spot. After having to relocate our sons 4th birthday party due to the weather, we were recommended Whits party room. Finally, some relief from a frantic search of trying to locate a new spot......or so we thought. We were told their was nothing in the books and the whole day was available so we reserved it for our party, and for another family members 3rd birthday party at a different time....(fast forward to the day of the party)...within the hour of the party, and almost an hour after they opened, we got a very rude phone call that they canceled our reservations, because they had a staff meeting and they needed the room to start cooking for it...I completely understand having to cancel reservations for certain reasons but I feel like this could have been handled in a more polite and professional manor as well as giving as much time for the affected party(s) to reschedule something, especially when most people have family/friends traveling from far away. I'm not saying YOU shouldn't support the business, what Im saying is for me and mine, we will not, and if you decide to reserve their party room...make sure you have a plan B, just in case.

It's a great place FOR TREATS. I LOVE THEIR FOOD ALSO. The EMPLOYEES ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND POLITE. I LOVE ALL THEIR FOOD, AND TREATS, AND SO DOES ALL 5 OF MY BOYS AND MY HUSBAND AND ALL OF THEIR FRIENDS LOVE IT TOO. ❤️ ? ?

I like Whit’s. It’s not cheap, nor is it fancy. But this is the kind of place you go to for one specific reason. THE CUSTARD. It clean, often pretty busy, and the food is fresh. Haven’t tried much beyond the fresh-made daily custards, but they do have great footlong hotdog. Typically staffed by local teens, but they keep up. They are always polite and attentive. It’s nice to see young people willing to work, and it’s equally nice to see an establishment willing to employ them. I appreciate that in a local business.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarians, keep moving. This is a custard shop. Unless you are ovo-lacto friendly, there’s probably nothing here for you.
Dietary restrictions: If you are lactose intolerant, this is not the place for you. I would avoid it if you have nut allergies as well.
Parking: In a strip mall adjacent to a hotel and event venue, so there is plenty of parking. Drive through is a bit confined though.
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly in that they server frozen treats, hot dogs, and Mac & Cheese!

We found this place on accident but we stop every week now. The Whits in Athens was awful but this one in Jackson is wonderful. I always get the flavor of the week and have never been disappointed.
