The place looks cool from the road. Walked in by the bar. Bar looks... nice. The bar area is very small. The dining area however a completely different vibe and decor. The place definitely needs a remodel. I guess what you would concider the carpet was absolutely horrendous. And I think that it might have been the source of the awful musty stench that you can't get away from short of just leaving the building. Which is what I wanted to do. My wife is much nicer than I am and made me stay. I swear it smelled like dank gym shorts and socks left in a footlocker for years. The table we were sat at I was convinced that it was going to fall over during the course of our meal. It might have been the wabbliest table ever. I am not exaggerating. It was bad. My wife and I sat on the same side of the table. The food and prices were actually really decent . Although my wife's steak was way undercooked. The food was not knock your socks off and was not good enough for us to return. It did look like they have a cool patio area. I will not step foot back inside. If they remodeled and got rid of the stink for sure I would go back. I am pretty sure that it was just mental but I felt like my lungs hurt when I got home.

We were there a couple months ago & had a great experience. Went there last night with TEN PEOPLE FOR A birthday party. The birthday girl was served 20 MINUTES after everyone else. Kitchen ran out of lobster, green beans AND squash.... seriously ??? This was a Saturday night! It was a 50 min. Drive for us to get there.......seriously not sure if we will go back. There are plenty of restaurants with great service and great food in Canton, which is much closer.
UPDATE *** Returned after 3 years, atmosphere not as good, especially for a romantic couple dinner. Waitress was OK, never asked about refilling drinks. Came for the lent special, $10 lobster tail as a side to your dinner. Filet was excellent. Lobster tail not so much, it was very large, but the texture and taste wasn't there. Sadly we sent it back, it almost as if it has been microwaved. Looked anemic. Dinner salad very small, served on a tiny plate. 1/2 liaf of bread per couple. Additional bread, $1.00/loaf. Once again it was a birthday dinner, party of 4. Honestly will not be returning.

The food was great and so was the service. Everyone in the party had good food.

Kid-friendliness: They had food for children.

What a delicious meal served with great service! Shout out to my daughter Kaysia Crawford for her hard work in the kitchen. Thank you, John and all the employees at the Black Iron Grill, for a wonderful dinner.

Food was really good. The issue was with our waitress. She was really nice, very polite and attentive but scored poorly on getting the details right.
First off, she forgot to bring out the salads - which were very good by the way. When she did bring them out - literally 60 seconds before the food arrived, I asked her for more salad dressing which I never got.
Second, my wife ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs and specifically asked for no sauce on them after they were cooked. They came out slathered in sauce. I thought they were delicious but she doesn't like their sauce - just the ribs. Not faulting the food, just the execution of preparing it.
Third, I ordered a ribeye steak. It was delicious but the extra $5 charged for their "special cabernet sauce and mushrooms" was a disappointment. I should have just ordered it without the sauce or ordered the Delmonico which includes it at no extra charge. The steak was very good and properly cooked and seared.
Fourth, we decided to splurge on their special $10 lobster tail. They were bigger than I expected and cooked to perfection. BUT, our waitress forgot mine and had to go back and re-order it. It wasn't a big deal but it left an impression.
Fifth, I was disappointed with one of the sides ... Brussell sprout hash. I had never had it and ordered it, expecting an upgrade from the sides that were included. Instead, I was charged the full $6 for this side ... and it wasn't worth it. It was whole brussell sprouts sauteed with diced potatoes. I think there should have been a $1-$2 upcharge but not the entire amount. And, if that is their policy, our waitress should have warned me.
Sixth, it was pretty pricey - but that was mostly our fault. We ordered a calamari appetizer, ($15) 2 entrees ($21 & $37 + $5 for the extra sauce), $6 for the "upgraded side", 2 drinks ($20) and the aforementioned splurge on the lobster. Total bill was $160 with tip ... too much for what we got.
FINAL SUMMARY. Good food, not so great service, disappointing result overall.

First time in the restaurant. My steak was thin and lukewarm. Our friends' fish was overcooked and dry. Service was slow, though place had few diners. Service staff and hostess were not in uniform...just concert T-shirts, converse tennis shoes and black jeans. Prices were high for quality of food. Overall, very disappointed.

I feel like I need to start off by saying that as someone who has worked many years in the food service industry, I always try to give grace. I am the last one who complains to a server in the weeds. Especially if it's the fault of the kitchen or staff called out and ESPECIALLY on a busy holiday. On Valentine's day my husband, friend and her husband came to the restaurant on a reservation we made for the Valentine's menu advertised. We made it later because a couple of us had to work. We had all been here before and food and service was always great. When we walked in, a lady walked out upset saying she had been there forever and got no drinks or bread. I figured she was being dramatic. She was not. My $48 med filet that I had purchased premium sides with (probably a $60 plate) was almost inedible. The filet was well done, burned on the top, lobster tail looked like a jumbo butterfly shrimp and was overcooked. I didn't want to complain but before I knew it my husband had said something to our server Emily while I was in mid bite and her response was "I'll let the chef know." My lobster mac didn't come until the end of my meal because she rang it in as a baked potato then told me she took the potato off my meal as if she was doing me a favor but I boxed up the mac cause at that point I was done with my meal, my friend went to pick up her B.I.G. steak topper bowl to put it on her steak and the bowl was so greasy that it slipped and spilled all over the table. The server looked directly at it 3 times and didn't offer a napkin a towel, nothing. Just let it continue to spread all over the table. If that wasn't enough, we couldn't get a straw for drinks, regardless of asking numerous times, and the manager was going to half the tables asking how their steaks and dinners were but never came to ours. I understand getting in the weeds, but there were 4 tables in the half of the restaurant during the last third of our meal. At that point there was no excuse for excessive wait times. Even the table that showed up next to us at the end of our meal got up to go to the bar to order their own drinks. I just got the impression at the end the server wanted to go home. But, Emily was sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. So I'll give her that. Also, the Brussels hash was delicious. Probably the saving grace of the meal. Also recommended by Emily.

My boyfriend and I had a very negative experience last night 2/14/25, and on a holiday there were still open tables so being busy wasn’t an excuse. Our waitress was awful, 10 minutes for her to greet us, another 10 for said drinks (they were wrong). She then brought our salads before the appetizer we ordered with no silverware … that she then got off of the dirty unbussed table right behind us!! Maybe 15 minutes later she brought us our appetizer and ran away before we could even say it was the wrong one, she then came back another 10 minutes later to take it to the table it actually belonged to. We eventually got our appetizer (mussels) with no side plates and our meals, that she had again put the sides in wrong for. After eating she brought the bill, that sat on our table for another 25 minutes before another waitress came over and asked us about it. The food was good and I would come back if it wasn’t for the awful waitressing.

Slower service but excellent food . Slower service probably due to very busy.didnt get the baked potato till after the meal. Poor waitress was stressed and kitchen , chef sent out meals staggered to our table instead of all at once. No bread and no spoon with soup. Steak was blue raw first time , better second time out.
