“Food and vibes at The River Merchant were so good! Probably the best Caesar salad I've ever had, and the added blackened chicken was perfect. Our server Lorelei was great, and suggested leaving our beer cheese behind from the pretzel app for our fries which was such a clutch suggestion. The salmon croquettes were also delicious. Lots of wins at this restaurant, definitely would recommend.”
“Bell Tower Brewing has a fantastic atmosphere where you can enjoy a dinner and some drinks with friends and family. As you can guess from the name, this brewery is in a very old church. The dining room and kitchen are in the original sanctuary. There is even additional seating above the kitchen as the roof of the sanctuary was very tall! They have a very nice outdoor patio area. But it is uncovered so rain would be an issue. We were there on a cold night, so even though they had plenty of portable heaters, it was too cold. The food was good and the on tap selection was large. The waitress was very knowledgeable on the drinks and helped us choose what to order! They are kid friendly and the tables had plenty of room. You were not sitting on top of each other. We will definitely be back! Especially when the weather warms up a bit!”
“I came here with a group of friends for the first time this past weekend. A wonderful experience!Waitstaff was extremely kind and professional, easy to talk to and gave great recommendations.Food arrived quickly and we were checked on just the right amount — attentive and friendly staff really contributed to a great experience. Great food. Highly recommended!”
“Overall the experience was good. I was disappointed in the portion size of the appetizer we received. The potato skins, listed at $12 for 6 skins, came and they were very small potatoes. About the size of a half dollar coin but maybe smaller. So for $12 not a great choice and a bad surprise. Also ordered the Walleye Taco, but it was unoriginal, just a piece of fish an onion slice and lettuce. Only came with one small taco for $8! So the beginning of the meal not so great. We actually visited this location after a radio ad stating Mondays were 1/2 pound burger and Fries special. When we arrived the menu was VERY specific though and the burger special was for just the Black and Blue burger. Which two of us got and it was very delicious. The meat was very good. I also enjoyed the French fries. Our third party member opted for the Philly cheesesteak instead and said it was ok but not worth the $20 price. So not trying to be negative, just honest opinion. The restaurant was packed by the time we left, so very happy we came early at 4:30 pm. Our server did a good job. He was a very serious person, Lol. But everything came out as ordered. This was our first visit to Bistro on Main so the reason we were not aware of portion sizes. But the burgers were very good. We will probably dine again and try something new.Parking: Get to the restaurant early, the parking lot is small and fills up fast and is difficult also to leave out of”
“Pinball, pool, and pizza. They also have an outdoor space, with shade, that's great as it starts to warm up.I've been coming here for years. Now that they have food with a full menu it's great to see how popular they've become. Highly recommend!”
“My friends and I wanted something not too heavy after watching the eclipse and thought sushi would be nice! Inexpensive spot for college students! I was not able to take photos of a before-picture due to how yummy it looked! I ordered the Salmon Avocado Roll and a Sex on the Beach cocktail.”
“Delightful and interesting talk tonight on writer and roughneck Jim Tully, whose post-hobo days in Kent unleashed his literary prowess and launched his Hollywood career. Wonderful crowd, too, heard Tully biographers Paul Bauer and Mark Dawidziak. Tap Talk Tuesday's are the bomb.”
“Locals and First timers on a Friday night. Wow, our friends were right-this place is a gem! Menu is straight forward, prices are appropriate but ...the food is amazing! Cozy atmosphere, friendly and personable staff. Go!”
“We've been here on two separate occasions once for lunch and once for dinner. I have been pleasantly surprised both times. Their burgers were delicious, they have a fantastic classic steakhouse salad, and tonight we had steaks. I can't believe how delicious the steak was. My husband, myself, and our kid all really enjoyed our steaks! I can't believe we have bypassed this place so many times. The prices are a little higher but the food has been outstanding each time we've been here.Kid-friendliness: The kid sized sirloin steak is the perfect size for our 9 year old!”
“This is not a fancy place, but the food was excellent! I got the Triple burrito (delicious) and my husband got the steak rice bowl. The helping were generous and the prices are reasonable. We will go back next time we’re in town!”
“Always super food! Portions are unbelievable and flavor is always good. I loved the fried shrimp. Also tried a bite of the lamb chops, prime rib, surf and turf and the lobster for my family’s plates and everything was delicious. Their lobster is better than anywhere else in my opinion. Simple with butter because the actual flavor of the lobster is so good it doesn’t need a lot of added seasoning. The only thing I did not care for was the sausage but that is because I am not a fan of spicy and it had a little spice to it. The decor is not fancy which is okay with me. I would prefer good quality of food over mediocre food because paying for a fancy atmosphere. Waitress was attentive and answered questions and accommodated my family’s crazy requests and preferences. If you like great food and leftovers the next day this is the place to go in Kent, Akron, Canton or Youngstown. Just make sure to check the hours or call to make sure they are open because hours have been shortened, the waitress said since COVID hard to find staff. Also no credit cards, only cash or check- always been that way for as long as I can remember. I am sure this is to help keep prices down due to all the CC fees. They do have an ATM there but you may have to pay a fee. I always just pick up some cash in the way. IT IS WORTH IT!”
“Barrio's food is delicious, and they have a lot of customizable options for people who are gluten free, pescatarian, or vegetarian. Service can be hit-or-miss; some servers are great, others can be a challenge and/or don't seem to much care about customers. Most of the time my order is made correctly, but my most recent visit my meal was made wrong. I know the ticket contained the correct info because my friend looked at it before the server took it and remarked upon the particular ingredient that I'd selected, but was never actually included in my dish. Instead I was given a dish containing an entirely different, and quite unpalatable, ingredient.Vibes are decent overall, decor is cool, and the bar makes good drinks. Can get REALLY loud though when full, and it seems like the just jack up the music when it's packed, making it sometimes overwhelming sound-wise.Vegetarian options: Customizable dishes.Dietary restrictions: Also friendly for gluten free and pescatarian diets.”
“The tues or wed special are good for us. Michelle is a great server and always makes us feel welcome. Still wish the bar menu was back and a lot of the items that were there before. If these things were reinstated, we would come more often.”
“I'm so happy to have authentic Mexican food so close to me. Everything we eat here is delicious. We love that there are always new things on the menu to try, and watching the Facebook page for updates on the menu and events like salsa dancing and tequila tastings! Everyone is always so nice!Dietary restrictions: We dine regularly with people who have dietary restrictions and it's very easy to find delicious food for everyone here, including celiac, lactose intolerant, vegetarian.”
