Nice breakfast and brunch spot. Very cozy little cafe in Acorn Alley. They are open until 2:00 PM with a mostly breakfast menu. This menu features staples like pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs, biscuits with gravy, homefries, crepes etc. They also have a selection of breakfast sandwiches/burritos, soups/sandwiches, pastries etc. The real stars are the pancakes and waffles which are loaded with great looking toppings.

Rise and Shine is always a great place to eat, but there is often a wait so factor that into your calculations. In the winter everyone likes to crowd inside the door, but in the summer its nice to go out and wait. Charming people and interior with delcious food. 😊

Stopped in for brunch, food was very good and restaurant was very clean. Only downside was lack of places to wait for a table, & the huge wooden room privacy divider that was in front of our table. It was constantly getting bumped & a few times I was sure it would fall on myself or my nine yr old.

I've been here a few times because my friends like it. I always get a breakfast burrito with my potatoes inside and extra salsa. I don't like their pancakes but to each his own and I haven't tried anything else because the staff acts like it's painful or too hard to make recommendations. This place bearable if you go with your chatty friends and don't mind generic food. The wait either doesn't exist or you feel like you'll never get a seat. I only eat here when options are limited or I've been out voted. Service leaves A LOT to be desired, don't expect to be wowed here.

We just moved to Ravenna this weekend so we were 1st timers and the experience was great! Our server was great and the food was great and combined with the portions it was a deal for the price! We will be regulars!

The food is delicious but the wait can be ridiculous. I honestly waited 40 min for my breakfast and my server told me as she was giving me my plate that it took so long because they burnt it and had to redo it. I wouldn't have minded if I was at least told what was up in the moment. She was a sweet girl though and didn't seem to know better. The real issue is another girl that works there. I'm certain anyone who's been there will know who I'm talking about. She has a huge forehead and always has her hair in a small bun. She is loud and obnoxious and rude as hell to you if you're not seated at one of her tables. If they got rid of her I'd go back. She sat and loudly complained about her personal life while me and my s/o were having a breakfast date. Shut up, do your job and stop bringing down the atmosphere.

Awesome service! Great food.... I ordered the Black Squirrel Nutty Waffle and my companion had the Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes... and both dishes were scrum-delicious! Definitely coming back...

Delicious food! Everything from their breakfast to their salads & burgers is wonderful! One of the best places to eat in downtown Kent! Their pancakes are unlike any pancake I have tasted at a restaurant! Their summer strawberry, grilled chicken salad is also one of my favorites! I highly recommend checking them out! I just wish they had a little bit later hours--would totally eat their for dinner!
