Warning to others read before buying Christmas cookie sets as gifts.
I buy cookies every year as gifts for others, whether shipping them to relatives out of town or giving them to friends. I shipped a few orders this year and stopped by this location for the rest. I picked out some cookies from the baskets as individual treats and others in bunches wrapped with bows. I gave my daughter one of the packages with a bow the same day. I am so thankful I did because they were solid as a rock! I am floored because this is the first time this has ever happened.
The buttercream-frosted cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and sugar cookies were awful! We took turns hitting them against various objects to demonstrate how they wouldn't break. When was the last time you wanted a cookie that hard? I am beyond disappointed. I am panicking because the orders I sent in the mail will also be too hard and stale. It's not like your cousin in another state is going to tell you if the cookies are awful.
I ended up having to purchase gift cards instead of giving cookies. The only giftable cookies were the ones that I bought in baskets up front I feel sorry for all those women who were purchasing the same pre-packaged gift sets of cookies and thought they were giving soft cookies as gifts.
Shame on the greedy management there taking advantage of others.

I ordered cookies 2 weeks before an event. When ordering online it says you can pick a time frame or a specific date. I picked a specific date. I got my confirmation email and that email even said the delivery date I picked. I spent over $27 dollars on shipping. The date came. No cookies. I contacted customer service and they were awful. They tried to tell me I picked a window of delivery even though I have the proof I didn’t. No help at all. I am out over $100 on this order and I had to go to a local store to find a replacement and had to spend even more money because they lied on their site. Don’t ask if you want a specific date if you aren’t going to deliver on it. This was my first time ordering and I will never order again. They wouldn’t even give me a refund. They offered $20 towards my next order. No thanks. You couldn’t do it right the first time why would I be stupid enough to try again?

I visited Cheryl's Cookies (Town & Country, 420 E Stroop Rd, Dayton, OH 45429) Friday, 27 Aug 23, 3 years after my first review, and I was totally dissatisfied. They were having a "sale" on old cookies, but they were not my first choice, nor did i know they were old cookies. I originally chose fresh cookies but was talked into a dozen cookies for $6.00. I got them home and tasted one, and it was stale with a bad taste. After being sick all night, I returned them to the store. They refused to return them since it was a sale. I questioned even if the cookie was bad and could make someone sick. I was told to come back the following day (another 25 min trip one way) and talk to the manager. The manager called the next morning, and I reiterated the cookies being old and making me sick. She said "all sales are final even though they are stale". I was shocked to learn that a company with a good reputation and high quality of product admitted they were selling old stale cookies, and they are perfectly fine with that. She finally agreed to let me trade in 12 old stale cookies for 2 fresh ones. I'll keep my cookies and throw them away and NEVER buy from this disreputable company with terrible customer service and poor-quality products.
Great cookies and a great selection. Employees are there ready and willing to help with anything you need.
I give this place 3 stars bc it is amazing when it's fresh but when you order it online it is terrible. Their fresh cookies are soft with buttery frosting but the online orders are crumbly with hard crusty frosting.
