The best place to stay while in the area. This was our second time staying at the Red Fern. We stayed in the Kelly's Island room, which was appropriate since we were headed to Kelly's Island the next day. The room was immaculately clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are decorated nicely with a nautical theme. The Inn was an elementary school, and they did a great job of converting it into an inn. It's very roomy and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. You are close to the shops and restaurants in Marblehead, and probably the best thing is the lower half is a winery. Also, the Kelly's Island ferry is located about 5 minutes away. Forgot to mention, you get a complimentary bottle of wine with your stay.

3rd time staying here. Rooms are lovely, include a seating area as well as small kitchen. Even though on a fairly busy road and the winery downstairs the rooms are quiet.Be sure and take a few minutes to walk up to the crows nest . . . great views of the lake and islands.Walkability: Easy walk to Marblehead Lighthouse and Life Saving Station as well as downtown area and Kelleys Island Ferry

Very Very Expensive ! Not Worth It.Food is just ok, but Very Expensive. Wine is poor and Very High Priced.Entertainment is poor. Was told that The John Pickle Show is not here any longer. Shame as that was great fun. But not anymore. Will not be going back.Rooms: Not clean. Not very nice.Food & drinks: EXPENSIVE !Noteworthy details: Poor or NO Entertainment.

Wonderful accommodations at a lovely inn. My husband and I frequently stay at Inns when we travel and loved our stay at the Red Fern Inn’s Bay Point Room. Great view of the lake, clean and comfortable!

Beautiful quaint winery with live music, easy to order right at the bar area with helpful employees. Places to sit inside or outside.
The room was exceptionally clean and tidy. Service was very positive. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant and helpful. The location may be a bit off the beaten path, but that adds to the charm and is exactly what we were looking for.Rooms: Inn is in a converted 100+ year old stone school building which makes for a unique experience. Room was clean and comfortable. We used the stairs to reach our 3rd floor room which had a view of the lake.Food & drinks: Wine bar onsite is a nice feature

Our room had everything we needed and was very clean. The land it sits on is very charming. We were a very short distance away from the ferry headed to Kelly's Island. I highly

Excellent accomodations, friendly and helpful staff. The wine was excellent. Lots of fun things to do near by. We will be back! Many local attractions to keep you entertained. Great location and easy to access from I-80.
Stayed in the Bay Room last night, really cool room with a great vibe. After dinner, my wife and I polished off a couple bottles of wine next to the fireplace. Will definitely stay again.

Charming building in downtown Marblehead. Full kitchen, comfortable bed and very clean. Complimentary bottle of wine, coffee and granola bars. The adjacent winery has lots of outside seating and several areas for campfires.
Thank you so much for a lovely stay! What a great way to start our Honeymoon. Enjoying wine outside among the vines then heading upstairs to our Lakeside room. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Hospitality was top notch! ❤️❤️❤️
I was looking for somewhere to stay in Marblehead as a last minute get away from the city (Columbus), and came across this beautiful property on Google Maps. So glad I did![Lengthy review, but worth it if you’re looking to stay]Chris (the owner) was very helpful in accommodating our 2 night, last minute stay. We were on the 3rd floor in the Lakeside Room. As others have mentioned and Chris explained prior to us making the reservation, there are no elevators and they do offer to carry your bags, both which were no problems for us being younger. The ROOM was absolutely pristine. We travel often and have frequented many Inns, Private BnBs as well as corporate AirBnBs and have yet to come across one this clean! (*see my other Google reviews*) We even slept with the comforter ON the bed if that speaks to you! Plenty of towels, extra linens, toiletries, and a blow dryer. The kitchen was well stocked although we didn’t use it to cook. I’d call it an efficiency kitchen, but really, it is a standard, small, full size kitchen. The interior of the property itself was super quaint! There was a spiral staircase leading to a ‘widows watch’ or ‘lookout tower’ that had spectacular views of the lake! On the 2nd floor landing, there was a well stocked library and coffee + water bar that was much appreciated in the mornings:) There was even a jar of Nature Valley bars, which was nice to grab on our way to sight see for the day! The exterior of the property was obviously adjoined with the winery (*see my review*) and offered many places to relax and enjoy a morning coffee or a glass of vino. They also had complementary bicycles out front, 1st come, 1st serve, which was a fun little way to get around the village for a bit.Obviously the pièce de résistance to us was the winery on the property, which we thoroughly enjoyed! They had a very good array of sweet to dry wines, as well as some spirits, bottle, can, and local draft craft beer.We had a wonderful stay, would recommend, and will come again!
Conveniently located near the ferry to Kelly’s Island. Staff were very kind and friendly. They are happy to take your bags up or down (no elevator) and it’s easy assess in and out with the key codes. The landing had a coffee area and books for lending - giving a cozy feel to the place. The little restaurant area out back is cute. Our room was on the second floor and was spacious and had a kitchen also. Plenty of room for a family. We could hear the people outside - coming and going but things quite down early there so wasn’t an issue. We could hear the person in the room above walking around, that got us up early… Was a nice place but was a little pricey.
