Slack burger is absolutely the best as are their shakes!!

Reasonably priced and delicious

I was told this was a great place to eat and to try the Slack House Chicken Sandwich. I went there at the beginning of the summer and they were out of chicken. I went again today and when we arrived, it was after 11, and the door was still locked. My co-worker called, no answer, we gave it a few minutes and tried again, they answered and let us in. Went to order and shocking...chicken wouldn't be available for another hour! Ended up getting a burger with under cooked fries along with rude staff. Not impressed and won't be back.

Terrible food, service. My burger was uncooked and tasted like the meat was rotten. When I requested a different entree I was told I'd have to purchase another one.Zero stars. The manager never spoke to me directly but sent a worker out.

Did some walking around the beautiful village of Lakeside then had lunch at the slack house. I had a Slack House Burger on a pretzel bun and fries that were so soft perfect they were begging for a douse of vinegar. Great service, reasonable prices. Definitely going again.

Food was great, service was great. Over the top shakes are huge!

Delicious & gourmet!!! Loved my burger, fries, & malt!!! Crushed my craving & hit the spot!! Enjoyed it with my family during the fall festival at LKSD, while sitting outside, enjoying the live music played that day!!! Thank you, Slack House Historic Cafe!!

I had the fish sandwich. It was very delicious.

So I was working on the AC next door and then smell was killing me. I have been craving a "good" burger for a while now. Bam! Here it is. Really good and the fries were awesome too.

Wouldn’t recommend eating at the Slack House because apparently they don’t offer service during the hours posted. Walked up to find the door locked to the main part of town. Hours were listed from 11am-7pm but yet couldn’t get in. Noticed guests inside but no one got up to even get the door. If you’re going to be a good established restaurant I’d recommend remaining open during the hours you post or at least writing on paper indicating that you’re closed. Not happy

Stopped by at 5 when the hours said 11-7 and the door was locked. Tried multiple times to get someone’s attention and no one let us in. Staff looked and continued on serving guests inside. Very disappointing as our family was looking forward to eating here
