Our first time trying Black Market Meats and it was excellent. We tried the peppers and onions sandwich. It had cheese and, of course their signature vegan deli meat. The bread was also excellent. We will definitely be back. Very nice people as well.

The worst thing about this place is that itâs in Lakewood, where I donât live. Haha.
We just got the Italian sub to try today for the first time since we werenât too hungry. But weâre going to be back ASAP after tasting it.
The sub is the size of my arm, reasonably priced, all vegan, and all made in-house. They also had deli items and cookies for sale. (My photos are just of one half of the sub).
I appreciate that they actually know how to use seasoning. They know how to use salt, pepper, and vinegar; I find so many other places are afraid to season their food.
The woman working the register was super sweet, and the interior here is like a cute vegan bodega.
I canât wait to return soon to try their other offerings!

After a 3 day extensive review: I made the understandable mistake of eating the whole sandwich (see picture above) because I had no self control after the first few bites. Definitely not a car sandwich but I wasnât going to take points off for that and I was already committed to this situation. The deli âmeatsâ, the texture of the bread, mushroom âbaconâ bits, I was a lost cause. I had no regrets or belly ache, the sheer girth of this beast knocked me down for an afternoon nap I wasnât prepared for. I decided to go back the following day for good measure, but with a game plan in mindâŠcut it in half and make it a two day sandwich. It was just as good as I remembered and it wasnât a fever dream. I figured there was no possible way the sandwich would hold overnight, I mean what sorcery is this? I carefully wrapped it and hoped for the best. After 3 days of eating sandwiches for science, I can confirm Black Market Meats is flucking delicious with no belly aches and minimal regret. Grab you a sammichâ!

More than worth it. The location fits perfectly into the neighborhood. Also the inside is clean and nicely done. It does feel nice and new inside but like it has always been there. The food above all is exceptional. High creativity, looks great and most importantly, tastes delightfully wonderful. The selection is new and yet familiar. I highly recommend this place. The staff is kind, knowledgeable and quick. I truly enjoyed the experience and I will return. Lastly the portions are huge. It is lunch for 2 or more days. Or perhaps bring a friend. And finally the cookies are amazing.
Had a pesto salami sandwich with some sort of soft cheese. It was huge and delicious. Itâs been so long since Iâve had salami I donât know if thatâs what it tasted like, but it was really really good!

Got the italian. By far the best vegan sandwich I've ever had. The size, portions, bread, seasoning, sauce, "meats", I mean everything was great. And for a very good price. I can't even know what to call what the other vegan places around Cleveland refer to as "sandwiches" anymore. They're all dry, bland, small, overpriced insults compared to this. This place is a shining example of what meatless food could be.
