I bought a pan of baklava for our out of town family Christmas gathering. It was an absolute smash hit! Those that had never tried baklava before had a new favorite and those that had had it before said they had never tasted better. What a special treat for everyone! Quality exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be back for more. I can't imagine anything they would make that wouldn't be just as awesome.
I stopped at Despina’s Bakery this morning on my way into the office. Originally thinking I would grab fast food on West 117th St, I remembered I had a yogurt with fruit, nuts, and honey at Despina‘s a few months ago and realized that would be the perfect breakfast. While I was there, I picked up some chili for lunch. Both meals were delicious. The chili is not hot spicy, but the spices in it are amazing and it is extremely meaty. I’m only sad.
