I stopped at Despina’s Bakery this morning on my way into the office. Originally thinking I would grab fast food on West 117th St, I remembered I had a yogurt with fruit, nuts, and honey at Despina‘s a few months ago and realized that would be the perfect breakfast. While I was there, I picked up some chili for lunch. Both meals were delicious. The chili is not hot spicy, but the spices in it are amazing and it is extremely meaty. I’m only sad. I didn’t think to pick up something for dinner as well. 😁

Food is always excellent. It's like visiting your Greek aunt's house. Grape leaves might be best in CLE. Spinach pie is buttery and flaky and just rather perfection. Greek coffee will definitely put some pep in your step.

Enjoyed desserts from here at a recent work party, so I decided to get an assortment for a small gathering I was hosting. Our guests really enjoyed the baklava and finikia. I will definitely be back! Bonus that the owner and her family are very friendly and kind people.

Second time here! I had a delicious lunch: Feta, Roasted Red Pepper and Spinach Quiche, portions were outstanding! Requested my Loudimi Greek coffee be served with Almond Milk and Brown Sugar. They didn't mind using my reusable coffee cup. They have a complimentary water station. Glad they are part of the neighborhood :) Awesome natural light in the dining area. My lunch and coffee cost less than $10!!! Please show them your support!

This place is incredible! I wish I lived closer! I tried the latte and split a baklava cheesecake with my friends, they were amazing. I highly recommend (:

Only nice thing I can say is that the food was pretty good. Service was terrible! I don't know if the woman I dealt with was the owner but she was very rude and I will never return for that reason alone. No class or professionalism at all. Absolutely NO parking except meters.

The way it should be. People and product over profit! Hopefully more businesses will follow.
I will be back ☺️

We went to Despina's Bakery for lunch today. We each ordered a piece of spanakopita not realizing how HUGE it would be. It is the best I have ever had!! We shared some zucchini balls which were excellent. This is a great Greek bakery and more. The owner let us sample a piece her orange cake. WOW is the only way to describe it. I highly recommend stopping here if you are ever in Lakewood!

What a nice place to visit! The owner is super friendly & kind & even serves you! The prices are great because you get a lot of food!!! The locals tell me they go almost every day for the coffee frappé! It's really a must try when you go there! Their desserts are amazing, make sure you take some home for later! I had the tiropeta with the crunchy thicker village style filo. It's homemade and hard to find! They also do special orders and catering! It makes you feel like you're in Greece!

I’m Greek myself so I tend to be picky when it comes to Greek food & it not being authentic but I LOVE Despina’s. It’s authentic & delicious. The owner is the sweetest woman ever & she has a large selection of bakery and food alike. My boyfriend and I try to come in on the weekends & it’s always great service & food/drinks! Couldn’t recommend this place more!! One of our very favorites for sure.

My first time visiting Despina's was a couple of Saturdays ago. I absolutely loved the family atmosphere. And for a few minutes, you are transported to Greece via this family-owned bakery. The owner is an absolute delight. The food was served deliciously hot. I tried the spinach pie (Spanakopita). It was very delicious and presented beautifully.

It was clear that the locals living around the bakery love the place. Everyone knew the owner and her family. There was constant foot traffic. What a great addition to Lakewood! I highly recommend paying a visit to Despina's. You won't regret it!
