My Iced Americano with extra ice was nearly perfect. Not bitter, not watery. Excellent for a summer day.
The service was wonderful. Fast. Engaging and pleasant. My dog said that the treat they made for her was the best she'd ever had.
Inside was soothing, with good music at the right volume. Interesting decor to distract from my phone. Outside on the sidewalk was also pleasant. The tables and chairs weren't just for show.
Overall, a great coffee shop. Others could learn a bit from The Blue Café.

I had seen this coffee shop before and decided to finally try it. When I arrived, two women were being served, and another woman was waiting alongside me. I don’t mind waiting when a place is busy, but I waited over 10 minutes for my drink—and the woman before me waited even longer for hers.
What stood out was that one worker was not helping with orders and instead spent time complaining about coworkers, while the other was doing all the work. When I finally got my drink, it had clearly been sitting out for a few minutes while the one worker continued chatting. As I left, I mentioned that gossiping in front of customers is unprofessional. One worker apologized, while the other seemed confused by my comment.
I wasn't thrilled with my experience or the coffee but maybe it was an off day.

I walk past here on my way to work 2 times a week. Super convenient place to stop for coffee or breakfast. Unfortunately, of the 5 or 6 times I've gone in, my order has been messed up in some way. Iced instead of hot, the wrong drink completely or just leaving something off the order entirely. I'm sure they'd fix it if I brought it up but I'm usually on a time crunch to get to work. It's unfortunate because this is a cute shop and everyone is very nice.

My first time here just now I came to just the best smell of fresh food and coffee beans. The atmosphere was so delectable and homely. The smell was caressing my nose and the nice chalkboard menu was neat to see. All types of people were In there and just talking, it may be the stereotypical Cafe experience but it was my first time there.
For the food I bought am everything bagel with cream cheese, a pup cup, one of those scone things I can't exactly remember, and a French and Caramel cappuccino. The pup cup came nearly instantly peanut butter slathered through the cup and topped with whipped cream, my dog dug into it when I got back. Scone came second, topped with maple and rather dense, maybe it was the milk ratio, still delectable nonetheless. The Caramel cappuccino came third, my cousin loved it, she loved everything about it from the temp to the flavor but the only regret she has was that she didn't get a larger size. And the bagel came last, goodness me I wish I had bought every food item in the menu because if that was considered a like a sample... goodness me, golly gee, that was an amazing bagel.
Lastly, the service was really nice. I wish I had stayed to eat over. I do hope I get to walk more over there.

This is a local family owned establishment and I haven’t quite found what is best on the menu here, but I’ve been disappointed a few times - it really depends on who you get as the barista. I think there’s some room for improvement in the crafted hot espresso offering - either the baristas are too inexperienced or something just isn’t suited my palette. I love that this place is open late on the weekends and they host live music - which is a great addition to the neighborhood that I appreciate. I have only tried a few food items here, and was a bit let down with the avocado toast as the avocado came out of a mass produced single serving prepared spread and the toast wasn’t really toasted or buttered. Keep improving on the quality and consistency and I think this place will be a great neighborhood haunt.
Don't leave google reviews but heard them fire a trans-girl a few weeks ago. Not cool. Especially in Lakewood. Not Queer-friendly

This was my first time coming to the Blue Cafe. Immediately when I walked in I was greeted by a staff member she was kind and let me take my time when ordering. My daughter was playing with another little girl and the staff member came and made more space for them to play and be comfortable. Very sweet of her!
I ordered the Pecan Pie cold brew as is and it was sooo good! The coffee itself was smooth and strong. I don't like sweet coffee and it was perfect it had just enough syrup and tasted like pecans, yum!
Great Cafe, will definitely come back just because the staff was awesome!

I’ve always loved this establishment. I used to come here every day before work and thought I had built a good rapport with the staff. The food is great, and the drinks are flawless, so it’s disappointing that I’m writing this.
On the morning of Friday, October 4th, I visited as usual, and I was on the phone with a friend while waiting to order my drink. I wasn’t being loud, using inappropriate language, or causing any disturbance. As I’ve done many times before, I patiently waited for the barista to finish other orders, even telling her to take her time.
However, when she approached me, she said, “I’m going to wait for you to finish your call because I find your being on the phone, offensive.” I was confused since I’ve always been on the phone here without any issues. If it were company policy not to be on the phone, I would’ve understood if she had explained it to me politely. Instead, her exaggeration, labeling my phone call as “offensive,” felt unnecessary and unprofessional.
I’ve always appreciated the hard work of the staff, but this experience has unfortunately turned me off from returning. This business has now lost a loyal customer. The only reason I’m not giving it a one-star rating is that this is still a great place overall.
