It's hard to beat locally roasted coffee brewed and served by staff who know what they're doing and love it as much as you do. I have a Rising Star coffee subscription but that doesn't stop me from popping in when I'm nearby for a fresh drip and a pastry from Blackbird. So grateful to have such good local coffee available!

I prefer tea to coffee, but all my friends that are coffee drinkers love Rising Star. They had a good variety of both coffee and tea, and had some baked goods, many of which were vegan. They have a small dining area where lots of people were meeting or working, but it did get crowded quickly due to its size. Will go back.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan baked goods.Parking: There's an excellent large bike rack just outside. Bike or walk here; driving is lame.

The product offered is delicious and typically provided quickly, but the staff, the past few times I have been there, were just rude. I watched as customers weren't greeted for a while or were greeted very rudely. I'm not saying it was a one person issue either. There were at least four staff members and they were all being that way. There were no mentions of "Thank you", "You're welcome", or "Have a great day". It felt really cold atmosphere-wise due to this. I'm not saying customers need butt kissing, but make people feel somewhat welcomed/acknowledged or try to brighten there day a little. I get that it's a job and I've worked in the service industry so I understand, but it's also a business that needs service standards set. Currently standards don't feel set and business will decrease (if it hasn't already) considering the number of coffee shops in a 1-2 mile radius... I hope things change for Rising Star. A 1 star rating is not fair because of the product, but the service was so bad I've got to go with 2 stars.

I never tasted the difference in coffee beans until I started drinking rising stars! Bought it on sale randomly at Whole Foods and now I can’t drink anything else. Went in today and I love the vibe of the place. It’s spacious enough, not too loud the customer service is great.
