I used to love the root,I would always go there around 2015-2019. Ever since Covid they started shortening the hours. They used to close around 10pm since Covid they would close so early .they need to go back to closing at 9 or 10 pm

Very plants, much coffee and delicious food. The root cafe is a nice place with decent staff, we had the eggs and a hummus plate which both were filling and delicious. They are more pricey than the next Starbucks but also have that extra bit of atmosphere and charm.Would recommend

Never understood why that is.Lots of vegan options.The culture wrap was amazing - tempeh never tasted so good.The hummus wrap was very fresh - could use more hummus but that’s just me.Ordered iced coffee with vanilla and lavender. The house nut milk was no extra charge - loved that! Espresso is a bit too acidic/fruity for my liking but again a personal preference. I’d recommend a diff bean for espresso.Overall super happy we stopped here on a whim.Vegetarian options: Vegan!!

Today my wife and I went back to this restaurant. A very unpleasant and unprofessional waiter yelled at us because we wanted to put our bicycles inside. When I said to him that the owner told us we can have the bicycles inside, he replied saying that the owner wasn't there and we needed to get a chain to lock them outside. Everything was very unpleasant. We won't go back to this restaurant...Vegetarian options: All the food is vegetarian or vegan.

I have been going to the root for years. The atmosphere is friendly, the food is plated beautifully and tastes like heaven. My favorites are the molasses cookies and wet burritos mmmm yuuuuum! It's the place to be, for sure.

Vegan inspired food that is both delicious and creative. I never thought I'd be happy with just a salad. But they have a salad with apples, oranges and walnuts. All mixed with walnuts and I substituted sweet potatoes for beets and I was thrilled.The staff and the atmosphere made my time in the area a tad bit better.

Ordered around 2pm for pickup at 6:30 after a long day of traveling. I get there to pickup my order and was rudely informed "it was cancelled because were now accepting them right now", I wasn't emailed until 6 saying it was cancelled. When i asked to place an order I was (again rudely) as told the kitchen is closed. Staff was not friendly at all.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. I was dragged here against my better judgement. I've had better coffee at Dunkin or McDonald's. If you want a sausage or bacon breakfast sandwich don't even bother. They had no meat offerings at all when we were there. Oh--and make sure you bring the trendy amount of money too where you pay more than you should just to say you went there.

Probably one of my favorite cafés in Lakewood. The atmosphere is ideal, the teas and coffees are perfect, and the food is delicious with generous portions. I also appreciate the self-clearing plate composting for the leftovers. It’s worth the wait that people have complained about.
