Honestly, the place was pretty nice, clean and friendly staff, but it could’ve been so much better. FOUR words,— deep fried soft pretzel nuggets. I’m just saying get rid of the popcorn maker. No one‘s going in there looking for free food it’s not an insult. We want to give you more money. Get a deep fryer and do nothing but deep-fried soft pretzel nuggets with a cup of honey mustard to dip it in. Put a generous serving in that popcorn basket and I would pay you anywhere from 10 or 12 bucks a pop and probably order two helpings and drink twice as much or more. Genuinely please consider!
Love the music and the New DJ!
We were intrigued to come in and try the specialty cocktails during the Potions & Pubs Bar Crawl during the Wands & Wizards Weekend Event and we got a little bit of a mixed bag. The options were among the best throughout the event and we loved having several choices. We had one bartender that was really good, friendly and made good drinks and one that was not friendly and the drinks were not good. The atmosphere was great we loves the historic charm and the vintage pictures as well as the articles highlighting past events.

Ended up here after the worst experience at Orange Carpet. This place has much better customer service. Bartenders are friendly. Won’t be going anywhere else

a great place to go ans staff is very good
I go here for the dart board and stay for the music bingo on Thursdays! The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly and keep up with the crowd when it gets busy! They have a variety of games and the atmosphere is great!
Parking: Parking on the street and in the bank parking lots in the evening. There is a back entrance if you park in the lot behind it.

Super busy... Younger crowd
I went into Bootleggers for the second time on March 10, 2023. Some friends who were familiar with the owners invited us before, so we thought we'd introduce another couple to the place and have a good time. We went to dinner and strolled in after for some drinks. We ordered a round and had a good time for a while... unbothered. I did not show ID. When we went up for the second round. I ordered drinks for myself and my wife from a different bartender. He went to charge my card and brought the drinks back. As he gave me the drinks, he saw my wife return from the restroom. It was now that he asked to see IDs. My wife forgot to move her ID into her other purse before we left, so she didn't have it on her. I handed him my ID, but he said he needed hers too. I told him she forgot it, and he stated that she couldn't have the drink. I told him that if that was the case, we would just go. He said he'd already charged my card and that it was too late. His solution was that one of us with an ID would have to drink it. I explained that we didn't show ID before and was confused about why things weren't consistent. He said that it was a 21+ up establishment, and he said, "I've kicked people out of here before for not having ID." I asked him, "Why don't you ID at the door then and why weren't we checked before you served us? I'm 27. My wife is 25." He said, "I'm not trying to be a dick. She's 25... not 50. Why don't you bring your ID to a bar?" At this point, I wanted to avoid conflict. It was clear I was out the money for the drinks so I took them to the table. My wife had a sip of hers. I finished mine and moved hers to my coaster. 15 minutes later the guy comes over and says, "I told you she can't drink that." I asked what he was talking about. The drink was at the time in my hand and nearly full. At this point, the man was clearly upset and getting aggressive. I asked for a manager. The man said, "I'm the owner." He grabbed the drink out of my hand, sloshing it on my friend, who had shown ID and paid for drinks. He then said, "Get the f*ck out." My wife was embarrassed. I was confused. I don't understand how a man with so little ability to control his temper and resolve conflict can go into business and deal with customers like this. The situation is so simple. If you can't provide something that somebody had paid for, they should not be charged. If you need to adhere so strictly to a policy, it needs to be consistent. The solution was to simply not charge me for the drink or refund me. They probably poured hundreds that night. Losing out on one to keep things civil and provide respectful service should be easy enough. Check IDs before you charge somebody. It's ridiculous. This cheap owner couldn't eat the cost of one drink because of his cheapness to not have a door person and/or inability to properly follow his own policy. This is insane over one drink that was eventually ripped away from me. I looked it up. The man I dealt with was indeed the co-owner, Joe. The first woman to serve us was the co-owner, Leah, who did ID my younger looking friend. It seems clear to me this place was busted for serving underage, and Joe is taking it out on his customers. I understand the reason for him not wanting to serve her, but he put us in an awkward situation and wouldn't take any share in the balme. I've never seen customer service like this. The only review they replied to on Google is one where somebody was concerned over possibly harmful music volume and over crowding. The rude response boils down to glad we're busy, don't come back.
Always looking forward to an evening or two with friends and family when visiting Lancaster at Boots!
