The brisket was very good.
We had a Sunday, 7:30 reservation. We were seated promptly and finished eating by 8:30 :)

I have had the privilege to have stay, & eat all state of Ohio lodges, & restaurants. The rock house restaurant at Hocking Hills State Park Lodge, by far is the worst lodge restaurant in the state of Ohio. Simply put; service, & food was absolutely pathetic; & as always staff’s response; we are short staffed. I don’t know what that has got to do with quality of the food. I don’t know if I would recommend the Lodge or not. I just arrived. I went into the room and the heat was off. I went to the desk and requested another room. She checked 4 other rooms. They were all off. I can’t have been the only one to check in. Hopefully they turn the heat on for others. I had planned on showering before our reservation at 6 for dinner. So I sat in lobby for 1 1/2 hour.

The Rock House Restaurant at Hocking Hills State Park Lodge offers a mix of experiences. Recent feedback highlights issues like delays in service and missing items, particularly when customers had to ask for plates for rolls and butter. The atmosphere is great, and the beautiful setting in the woods adds to its charm, making it a spot with potential despite occasional inconsistencies. The staff is outstanding, attentive to all customer needs, but the food quality can be inconsistent, with some dishes like salmon and Alaskan Pollock being dry or overly salted. Customers have also experienced slow service, particularly during busy times, with long waits for food and drinks.
