Having grown up in Lorain, I’m always up for another place for pastelillos. My brother suggested giving this place a try. We were in the area and decided to pick up some pastelillos. It was late ish lunch time maybe a little after 1 PM. The place was empty but that wasn’t necessarily negative. It took the couple in there a hot minute to look up from their phones and I asked for 6 beef pastelillos. It took a while as they had none premade. Totally understandable. However the guy who stood there on his phone the entire time did not give off a welcoming feeling. Just in general the man behind the bar made it seem like we were not welcome. I was very uncomfortable while waiting for my order. When I got them home and tried one they were super greasy the oil was not hot enough when they were cooked also it was obvious the oil in their fryer needed to be changed it had turned. This was so disappointing as the dough was a great texture and the filling was so perfectly seasoned and had nice texture.

This was so disappointing as the dough was a great texture and the filling was so perfectly seasoned and had nice texture.

Enjoy supporting family owned restaurants but professionalism is needed. I placed my order prior to a fluctuation of people arriving and the customers after me got their order before me. It is unacceptable as a customer having to wait because your friends came to visit. Again, family owned restaurants should be supported and love how they want to make it feel like family BUT sometimes it’s a little overboard on how they treat other out of town customers.

I had a taste for a cubano sandwich and going this place was open and serves said sandwich so I have this place a try it's more a bar than a restaurant and the sandwich was good from a bar had all the right flavors a little heavy on the sauce but it was a good sandwich so I was happy for that the only negative was the price I paid for it it slowed in the menu on the wall above the bar it is $6.75 but once I was trying up it was increased to $9.70 I didn't bother to argue about it and paid it with a tip on top of it didn't feel like arguing about it.

If you’re looking for the WORST SERVICE this is the place! We arrived at “the restaurant/bar” at 8:35 p.m. I went straight to the bar. There were four men sitting at the bar and one waitress behind the bar. At 9 PM she decided to finally come ask us for our order I asked her for an alcapurria. She had the nerve to tell me that the kitchen was already closed. She said that the kitchen had closed at 9 PM. I told her that I had been sitting there since 835 waiting for her to come and get my order because she was too busy talking to the gentleman sitting at the bar she never came. Then she told me that she would go ask in the kitchen if it was OK for me to place my order. She came out and said that they had agreed to make me my one. Alcapurria. Then we I asked her for 4 drinks it took another minutes. Again the hour for customers at the bar and myself my husband, another couple. The worst part was that my husband went up to the bar and waited for another 10-15 minutes and asked for another drink and they never brought it to us, but had the audacity to charge us for it. This place is ridiculous and the bartenders are absolutely useless!!!!

Staff was friendly and attentive, very authentic atmosphere, beautiful food and outstanding people

The prices online are not the prices on the menu at the restaurant and the prices on the menu at the restaurant aren't the prices either and a completely empty half moon

Atmosphere is more of a bar that also has a kitchen in the back that they can serve food. Pernil sandwich was OK, bread was overly toasted. The chicharon was the most flavorful I've ever had. The beef pastellios were not good. The dough was very dry and the meat texture was questionable.
