Scratch Steakhouse and Lounge

Stopped in here after just moving into Louisville and was presently surprised. Everything was very good and cooked to perfection. Gives off New York vibes and has good food to back it up. You pay up for everything but it's definitely worth it!

Chief and owner was amazing, enjoyed our chat about where they source meats and veg, local focused. Comfortable. Went on a quiet Thursday night for a birthday dinner. Waitstaff fell short of expectations when appetizer was never brought out. Food provided new definition of delicious.

The word “fantastic” does not do this restaurant justice. Visiting from PA, a number of area residents recommended Scratch for our dinner outing. Great atmosphere, wonderfully attentive service (thank you, Elena!), and perfectly cooked flavorful entrees and sides. Add in our nicely made drinks and delicious shared desert… perfection achieved. High marks on all counts.

The food was amazing. Delicious, fresh and made from scratch. I had salmon and gnocchi which was made in house. Family had awesome steaks. Great atmosphere. The food is definitely worth the money. Our daughter is gluten free and was so excited that most of the menu is gluten free because everything is made from scratch and they choose to make it all in a gluten free way!! Way to go Chef/Owner! Our new favorite restaurant

Had a bone in strip steak, medium rare., roasted potatoes and a wedge salad.

Steak was cooked properly, nice grill marks, great flavor. How ever was tough and much gristle. Rating 2 of 5
Potatoes were mushy with no body and seasoning was not to my liking. Rating 1 of 5
Salad was fresh, crisp and good dressing. Rating 4 of 5

The food is overpriced. They are charging high end steakhouse prices yet there is nothing high end about it. Morton’s dry aged ribeye is the same price and in a diffrent league. The half priced filet was good but at full price it is also overpriced. The restaurant itself needs updated. It feels like a mom and pop 15$ a place restaurant, not a high end restaurant at all. Yet the price makes you think it should be high end steakhouse. The bar mirror was filthy. The prices online are not the same when you get there either. They are higher. The menus are 5lbs wood blocks that are ridiculous and impossible to look at. Service was great, thank god for that. My wife and I have a bellyache and will not return. I hope the people in this little town can get out and actually get an amazing steak one day for the same price.

I had an incredible dining experience at Scratch Steakhouse! The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and had just the right blend of elegance and comfort. The food was absolutely top-notch — every bite was a delight. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection, tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The sides were just as impressive, each one prepared perfectly. It’s clear that attention to detail and quality ingredients are a priority here.
