There are not a lot of options around this area so, we visited the Malabar Farm. The menu looked promising but we had to wait more than one hour to get our food. Once we got it, my plate (meatloaf) came with a fly (free of charge), I didn't complain and started eating (from the non-fly part) and it had a substantial amount of egg shells. The food was not good, the servers were overwhelmed and forgetting things. I do not recommend this place.

This restaurant is top notch and well worth the drive to get to. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. I had the penne past with shrimp in a mushroom parmesan cream sauce that was out of this world! All ingredients were perfectly cooked - shrimp, pasta, mushrooms, sauce to make a flavorful palette pleasing meal. Portions were large. My husband had the walleye, and he loved the sauce. We ate out on the deck and it is very pleasant with the view of the farm and meadows. Highest recommendation! We will be back the next time we hear toward central Ohio.Dietary restrictions: The menu is labeled indicating seafood, gluten, dairy, etc. Easy to find something that meets dietary restrictions a d avoid alkergies.

We were in the area and bypassed another restaurant to eat at Malabar because we had good experiences there previously. Sad to report that something has gone terribly wrong. The Asian salad appeared to have been dressed the previous day. The lettuce was completely wilted. The French onion soup was tasty but the onions in it were huge chunks; no care taken in chopping. Husband’s walleye was over cooked, onion rings were extremely greasy. Broccoli was Ok So sorry to report this,

Enjoyed dinner here for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. The crab cakes were delicious, loved the homemade remoulade sauce. French Onion soup was amazing, my filet was cooked perfectly and the crème brûlée was PERFECT which is very difficult to do. Service was decent not exactly a fine dining experience but it could be with a little more attention to detail.

Unfortunately for such a great land mark the food just didn't match up . My Dans chicken was okay , the mashed potatoes were dry and the broccoli was hard and cold. Our friends also had dry mashed potatoes with her chicken marsala. The lamb was okay unfortunately mint jelly was not an option on the menu . Flys buzzing around the inside windows were we sat . Great place though so we hope they step up on the food .

Loved our visit here! We were made to feel right at home and very welcome by everyone we encountered here. I highly recommend David T. as your server and Dan, one of the owners was very friendly and accommodating.

Didn't get to eat. Sat for 15 min without anyone even coming to get our drink order. The people behind us came in after us, had already gotten their drinks & then the waitress stopped to get their order & still didn't come to our table. When we heard her tell them there was no meat loaf, that finished it for us because that's what my husband wanted. We gave up & left. Guess we'll never know if the food is good.

Four of us went in on Wednesday at 5:30.The staff was very friendly! We ordered drinks, and dinner. We ordered seared salmon, with broccoli and a salad, Lake Erie walleye, seared and glazed with bacon and sauce along with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The third dish was pasta with mushroom gravy and shrimp. The fourth dish was chicken Marcella with mushroom topping along with broccoli and a house salad. The food was spectacular! The staff was very friendly, and the only small issue I saw was not having our waters filled. It seems that our waitress might have been the only one.We complimented the chef via the waitress. He came out to say hello, and was extremely friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp.

The meatloaf with the mushroom gravy is the best I have ever had! Got to meet the chef, Dan Bailey, and he was super nice as was our waitress. Sitting outside you get to see the beautiful countryside while sipping on a glass of wine or beer. A must go to

Stopped in today with my wife on our way to a visit the Mohican Lodge. Wasn't sure if they were open but we did see people sitting on the patio. I believe we were the second table to be seated at 11:20 AM. Chose to sit out on the patio as well as it was a absolutely gorgeous day! One lady took our drink orders while we Peru's the menu. I chose the Bogart gimlet. It seems all of their specially drinks have a hint of cinnamon for some reason. I think the cinnamon for the gimlet was in the simple syrup. I didn't throw that flavor off fully but I did notice it. My wife had an ice tea. Turned out it was a passion, fruit iced tea with a hint of cinnamon. My wife chose their Caesar salad with fried chicken. We asked about the soup of the day, and there was none. I decided on their east coast crabcakes. I've been to Baltimore, and had some really terrific crabcakes! These weren't those; however, they were still pretty good though I thought there was a bit too much filler. My wife's Caesar salad was absolutely delicious and well presented! Overall I really enjoyed, our visit. Our waitress was exceptionally professional, polite, and fast moving! Thank you!

Stopped by here while visiting Malabar Farm. There were only two waitresses working but both did a great job in seating and serving a pretty busy lunch rush. I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. It was huge with mushrooms and gravy. It was delicious. My wife had the burger and onion rings. The burger was really good and the onion rings were the best I have ever had. They had a beer batter taste and the onions were cooked so when you took a bite the online did not pull out of the batter like other onion rings. The price was not bad either for such big portions. If you visit Malabar Farms I would definitely suggest you stop here but expect to wait a while since they are short staffed but it's worth the wait.

I heard rave reviews about this place so when we were in the area decided to give it a try. We went on a weekend during lunch and were able to get a seat pretty quickly. The restaurant is actually a old house and there is a sign out front discussing the history. The menu is limited and has a French theme to it. We ordered a spaghetti meal, crab cakes, and a special Cuban sandwich. The spaghetti did not come with a salad or any sides. The kids enjoyed it but it was very simple. The Cuban sandwich for very greasy and somewhat dry. The restaurant is also very loud. There are about 8 tables in the same room and because of the size the meal was very loud. Wish I had a better review but it was just an okay meal.

We went on a cold day and they were under staffed. We had a long wait for our food. The onion rings were really good but came out lukewarm. The onion soup had a delicious broth but had croutons in it instead of French bread. Hamburger was asked for medium rare but was well done.
