The Rio Cafe serves fresh, well prepared food with a menu ranging from smoothies to dishes with a Mexican touch. The soups are excellent especially the tomato bisque. Service is warm and personal. This is the best place to eat breakfast or lunch in Great Barrington.

I cannot help but gush about my favorite coffee shop! Not only do they serve incredible drinks, but their fresh food is simply divine! When my wedding was in the works, I knew that the only person I wanted to cater my grazing table was Sarah. I was ecstatic when she agreed. To say that she surpassed all my expectations is an understatement. As soon as I laid eyes on the grazing table, I was absolutely blown away. Thank you, Sarah, for going above and beyond to make our special day even more memorable. Your presentation was impeccable, our guests raved about it, and the catering kitchen was spotless afterwards. Had breakfast here 2 days. Got the omelet with 3 fillings - large selection of fillings available. Good omelet and home fries, toast. Good coffee. Clean surroundings and the open early.

What a wonderful little restaurant. French toast with blueberries was excellent. Very distinctive menu. Not just your average breakfast/lunch place. Highly recommend you try this place.

My wife and I visited here recently. I ordered veggie nachos and specifically told the waitress I did not eat meat and did not want any meat on the nachos. She brought my wife's entree first, then she brought nachos with with meat, no veggies. By that time my wife was almost finished with her entire, so I told the waitress to just forget my order. She brought the nachos with meat back out and tried to convince me to eat them. When my wife was finished eating I went to the counter to pay because ww hadn't seen the waitress in some time. After about five minutes of standing at the counter, the waitress comes out with a new order of nachos. I reminded her that I told her to forget my order. She was upset with me and said, "they get mad at me in the kitchen." She tried to convince me to eat the nachos. I explained that my wife had already eaten, that I told her I didn't want anything and that I wasn't going to eat by myself. Terrible experience!!
