HEY WENDY'S! STOP STEALING FROM YOUR CUSTOMERS!

I have been to the store multiple times and they tend to get items wrong or the food is old and cold. I haven't really complained until today. I made a cash purchase for $18.92 and CHRISTY @ 11:38 am only gave me $1.05. I told her the change due was $1.08. She said we don't have any pennies because they don't make them anymore. I tried to explain to her that they're still in circulation and still legal tender, and if she didn't have any pennies , the law is to round up to the nearest five , which would have been $1.10. She yelled at me and said it's only 2 cents and she's been doing this since they stopped using pennies (so obviously I'm not the only one she has stolen from). Then slammed the dry through window in my face. I waited there and I demanded to speak with the manager. He seemed very uninterested and reeked of marijuana which he has many times before and did not make things right even though he had the chance to. I know this is a new thing of not using pennies, but that's why I was calmly explaining what the laws arw. The employee was disrespectful to me and so was the manager by not making it right.
I called Wendy's corporate customer service and the gentleman I spoke with said that he's been getting a lot of phone calls about this situation and about stores/employees stealing money from customers. He also said that legally, I can call the police and file theft but I didn't think that was necessary. And I wanted to go through corporate first. Theft of the amount of .02 is a misdemeanor but now that they made it federal law that you have to round up to the nearest five, that's a federal law violation. He told me that all the employees being reported for theft are being let go, and I really hope that's true. Not only is theft illegal but her giving me attitude making me feel guilty about asking for the correct change back was unnecessary.
I actually know Ken Cook from corporate office in Dublin Ohio and will be contacting him directly as well. Everything was caught on my dashcam. I am trying to give wendy's a chance to fix this before goes viral.

Here is the federal law and guidelines as of September 9th, 2025.

FEDERAL LAW H.R. 3074 SECTION 2: NO EFFECT ON LEGAL TENDER.—Any one-cent coin that is minted and issued on any date before the date of the enactment of this subsection shall remain legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues.” The Common Cents Act require cash transactions to be rounded up or down to the nearest five cents.

We stopped across the street to charge our car and popped in for a burger at 7:40 in the morning. It was open, but they had the lobby locked and would not open the door. No car. No food.

Stopped on our way to Columbus and had excellent service and the burgers and nuggets were fresh! Fries could have been a little more fresh but overall we enjoyed our meal on the go. We would stop again.

Drive thru .. ordered the browns biggie bags and the magic voice didn't know what that was. Went inside with browns bag sign, ordered 2. Got food and into truck, to find no bacon. Went back in and was given correct sandwiches, total time from going inside to leaving 35 mins. Sad.

Horrible experience. Didn't make the food correctly the burger was in pieces, fries came cold and the place was busy. when the girl was told her reply was "well I didn't make it" the sandwich maker then says "who the F cares" . Will never be back. We came in today waited 15 minutes for food. Location needs to be closed if the employees don't want to work and don't want to speak to the customers politely.. the customer is the one that helps pay the employees bill.. this location should go all AI and robots. That's how horrible the employees are. The manager is just as useless as they aren't even visible. The manager needs replaced along with all of the employees.

Female bathroom toilet was leaking and toilet water all on the floor, The bathroom had no paper towels to dry your hands after walking in the toilet water was disgusting. Bathroom should have said out of service. When employees were told the response was what do you want me to do about it!!!

The tables to sit at weren't clean and the soda machines in both the back and out front didn't have carbonated drinks weren't told that until asked them to fill the drink in the back bc the soda options out front were all uncarbonated and flat. Payment was made and takin and not told couldn't choose drink option wanted till food arrived and payment had already been takin 15 minutes prior!!!

Horrible experience from start to finish. When you hire low lives you get this outcome from employees to your paying customers.. so the hiring manager should be held accountable for this.
