Thought I would bring my son to see my friend's band for a show they were having at the Maple Grove, but I didn't know if it was going to be an all ages show or not. I wanted to call and ask. I looked on their website and they don't have a phone number listed. Or on Google. A phone number.Since my friend's band plays a lot of all ages shows, we took a chance and drove 40 minutes to the club.We got there and they refused entry to my son, even if he put black Xs on his hands. So we drove 40 minutes back home extremely disappointed. What kind of place doesn't have a phone number?A poorly run one.

What a great little place tucked away on Dunham! They have a party room upstairs you can rent out, very inexpensively, for parties. Beyond ample free parking available. Drinks were great and prices are very reasonable. Attended a birthday party for a friend and all the staff were super quick and helpful, highly recommended to look into having your next get together or event here. Support this small local business!!!

Went there at 1am on 1/21 to have a drink. About 10 people were in there. Lights outside were still on. Walked in and everybody stopped talking and the bartender said the bar was closed. Did not make sense. She said the lights were out outside which was not true--If lights were out and no cars there why would we ever go in. We looked at her and just calmly walked out. Will never go again. Man pulls out in a pickup truck asked us if we had drugs. Said he wanted powder and again we are not drug dealers so that is the type of clientele they have inside. If you are out late and want to have a drink do not go there. If you happen to be black do not go there. The racial undertones are horrible. Try walking in and everyone stops drinking/talking looks at you and determines that the spot is closed with multiple people there.

Cool litte tavern in town, didn't try the food but the service upstairs was superb with Kristina! Place was empty but it was a holiday weekend thus the 3 stars on atmosphere. Could have had some sort of drink specials or event to liven it up!

usually a great place to go to for drinks and cool vibes, but my last experience was awful, literally was denied service for no apparent reason at all, the bartender became very rude when I asked her for another drink of the same kind and told me I should go home. I was not loud and obnoxious , me and my lady were very respectable and this how we were treated and I don't undertsand. I don't want to play the race card because we have been coming here for years and nothing bad has happened but I don't know how else to explain it but that's ok karma works in mysterious ways. I will return there because like I said been going there for years and the owner is a really cool guy, but that bartender I don't know about her, hopefully she is in a better mood when I return.

I've gone to this place for fifteen years, probably more. It is exactly what you'd expect it to be. A cheap, no frills, affordable neighborhood bar. I know many of the regulars, who are just like me; people who want a beer at a decent price and to relax and have a couple of nice conversations. They've had some turnover in the bartenders, but I have never had any issues with any of them and find them to be very friendly and accommodating. Also, concerning the owners, they couldn't be any nicer to everyone who comes in there. I have read some reviews, some "questionable" ones, calling some people racist who may work there or have worked there. Maple Grove is in a predominately black city, and it has been for years. I'm white, but I almost never go in there when there aren't black people in there as well as white, and oftentimes it's mostly black, which is COOL. We all have fun there. I've found that it is a term thrown around very easily the past few years. I live in Lyndhurst now, but still have a house in Maple, and I've noticed that some people use that term in describing bartenders who don't give them exactly what they want as far as rule bending or whatever, as I have seen it here in a bar I go to in this area when how some people were upset because they were told children were not allowed in due to house rules - very politely and apologetically (I was there) - but the first thing the people who were told this did was run to Yelp and call the person just following the rules "racist". Utterly disgusting and ridiculous, and very, very ignorant. We all realize what is going on, so I'd suggest you take reviews like that with a grain of salt, as I'm sure you already do.
