Called in Thursday told him we would like to make a reservation for the restaurant. We had 16 people to come they said no they couldn’t make a reservation but there’d be no problem. Come right on ahead showed up there today and they said no they couldn’t wait on that many people and we had everybody 16 people standing or waiting.

Breakfast was good and good price on the bill. Poached eggs done to perfection and wall decor that makes your feel that this place is special. I like the steernwheeler pictures, the muskets and the wood work on the trim.

Went to the Easter Brunch. The food was very good. The vegs and Potatos we fantastic. The couscous was very good also. I didn't find any issue with any of the meats. Of course the desserts were fantastic.I would like to suggest some GF choices for those with issues with gluten.

Stayed at the Lafayette and was quite shocked to receive a free breakfast with our stay. This free breakfast was amazing and included, 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast, and then also the drink! The staff were amazing, prompt, and most important so friendly! The food was delicious, and more then you would ever expect for a free included with hotel stay meal .

When we checked into Lafayette Hotel (June 23, 2022) we were given tickets for breakfast worth $5 each. So in the morning we headed down to the Gun Room. Unusual name, but I soon saw why, they have a large amount of historic rifles on display. The restaurant also has a riverboat theme with many historic photos/painting of riverboats from the past. Also riverboat decor. I believe this restaurant double as a hotel ballroom, or used to be a dance ballroom. There is a stage and a dance floor. We were seated immediately for breakfast, and the place was quite busy with hotel guests and only a couple of servers, yet the service was pretty good. We were given menus and our tickets said that we could have the continental breakfast or order off the menu and pay anything over $5 cost. So I asked our server what the continental breakfast was. She said it is the Traditional Breakfast listed on the menu, which was 2 eggs, hash browns, toast and ham. This is what I was going to order anyway but the menu said it was $8. My wife had the Cheese Blintzes With Blueberry Compote also $8 on the menu. The breakfast was great and we both had coffee as well. The server took our tickets after serving our food and never returned. We waited quite awhile for our check to pay the difference, so we assumed it would be charged to our room. However, upon checking out of the hotel there was no charge for breakfast.

We were staying at the hotel, and had coupons to dine here for breakfast one morning. While the servers were friendly, they were disorganized. No one greeted us when we entered, and while we stood at the "Wait to be Seated" sign, I saw several people exit the kitchen, make eye contact, then disappear. Eventually, a woman showed up and lead us to a table. We waited about 10 minutes before a waitress came over to us, and then I watched as another waitress stopped by a table near us for their order after that. They had been waiting longer than us. The breakfast was filling, but nothing special. We decided not to eat dinner here. Before you plan to eat here, check which nights they are open.

Served buffet style, with custom made omelets. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries. This is currently done as Sunday brunch. Eating here at other times will be a completely different experience.
