I just happen to be going through scutch today I noticed the tavern was open! So I stopped in and had a late lunch.. I have the Tavern plank burger. I believe it’s called with the mushrooms and onions and cheese, and I had chippers and a cup of the French onion soup!! it was all very delicious, but I have to tell you the soup was to die for!! it hit the spot
You just have to go here to experience it! Eric (the owner) is fun to talk to. Please support this gem of a business. I think he said it was built in 1830, originally used as a doctor’s office. It’s a comfortable, casual place. Lots of brick and wood beams old stained glass windows as decor in various places. We’ve been there 3 times so far to eat. The food is very good. Even a tossed salad is special….not just lettuce with a few pieces of tomato. Friday night...
I really struggled with my review on this place and leaving it a three-star and maybe not lower. I absolutely hate leaving less than positive reviews for local mom and pop type restaurants. However I'm just going to tell it how it came because I was really disappointed.
