My sister and i went on a Wednesday at about 5. No one else was there, by the end we were saddened by that. After the owner told us they had been there 13 years we figured they knew it was their slow day. Anyway. She ordered the special plate with a bit of everything (of which she took more than half home) while I ordered camarones diablo (easy translation is devilishly hot shrimp) which definitely was hot but super tasty. We ordered a guac side. Very freshly made and wonderful....
After vacationing in Mexico in 2016, I have been on a quest to find Mexican food as delicious and authentic as we had in Cozumel. La Mesa is definitely the front runner at this point! Delicious!
Excellent food, great prices, very fast and friendly service. Tons of delicious vegetarian options that are more than just rice/beans/cheese. A weekend dinner favorite, I can't recommend them enough!
