It's great to have them back in Mentor. I use to stop all the time when they were in the food court in the mall. Love the chicken and shrimp teriyaki

I have visited 2 times since my last review the food was delicious both times! Please don't listen to these bad reviews of people saying they make their food in the back when you can clearly see them making the chicken right on the grill. There chicken is not all fat it's chicken thighs. Just say that's not your favorite cut of the chicken. Sakura will always be my favorite as I remember it in the mall and every other location that they have! Thank you for your excellent service and a clean environment!
Don’t waste your money here, chicken was not crispy and was nasty, fried rice was bland , had spicy sauce all over my food that I didn’t ask for , spent 30$ to take 5 bites and threw it away , way better when it was located in the mall

First time there. Could smell the delicious food from the parking lot. Beautiful, clean, new store. Friendly staff. Tasty food. My family loves Teriyaki Chicken.

Not sure what the hype is. Was looking forward to trying it but the chicken is all fatty, chewy thigh meat with vegetable mush. Almost choked on a bone. While not Japanese, I’d rather go to Panda Express with more options.

Very disappointed with our recent order from Sarku Japan. We didn’t receive our food in a timely manner, and when it finally arrived the noodles looked broken up and old, almost like leftover food. On top of that, the person packing the order had grease all over the bag, which made the whole experience feel really careless and unsanitary. For the price, we expected fresh food and better service. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

I am very happy that Sarku Japan decided to reopen in Lake County after the location in the Great Lakes Mall closed. This new location is on Mentor Avenue in the same complex as El Rodeo in the former Moe's Southwest Grill. My first experience was a positive one. I ordered an old favorite Teriyaki Chicken.

Today I tried the reboot of Mentor Sarku. I ordered 2 chicken teriyaki with white rice and veg and 1 with double meat. What I got was no veg and both double meat maybe? The food was identical to the old location which I love but the missed order was slightly sad. They now assemble the order out of sight so you can't verify it without opening everything.
If you go for lunch, it appeared that they start cooking food at 11 which is also when they open. The first order didn't leave the kitchen til 11:20 when the first batch of chicken was done and then others followed quickly after. There's no reason not to have chicken teriyakis ready at 11:05 since that's what everyone is going to want, obviously.
Finally, a tip from an HVAC guy, get that hood exhaust dialed in quickly or there will be a layer of grease on EVERYTHING in the kitchen and dining room.
I hope they iron out the issues over time and I'll definitely try them again sometime.
