The worst place I have ever stayed disgusting
I researched the cabins before we arrived so I knew what to expect there. What we were not prepared for was the amount of trash and general condition of the place as a whole. I had to shower in the men's bathroom, the islanders recommended we not drink the water, and things are in a very broken down state across the facility. When asked if someone could clean out the firepit of hotdogs and trash, I was told "we don't have anyone to do that". We will definitely not be staying there again.

Pretty neat place. The pool and bar were great.

The manager was very rude the minute we pulled in, yelled and cussed at us for parking near the grass. We knew that he was going to be Like the rest the trip. And was right. He would complain. We were too loud during the day and walk around our cabins on the phone, which was very strange. We asked for bedding and were given two sheets and we rented two cabins, so had six beds but only two sheets no pool low cases either, needs new management!
Rooms: The cabins were nothing fancy and didn’t expect them to be. But did have air-conditioning other than that not much. Bring bedding and be prepared for a sore back very thin mattresses.
Walkability: Great location we’re able to walk pretty much anywhere we wanted to within 10 minutes. Not bad area for the cabins. Kinda felt private from other people on the island

We didn't stay at St. Hazard's (thank God), but we used the pool because we stayed at the condos on the lake, which are affiliated with the resort. I can't speak to the accommodations/lodging at St. Hazard's (the condos are separate); however, the pool area needs some serious attention. There were empty cups and other trash around the pool and the chairs were in bad shape. The restrooms near the pool were disgusting. They appeared to be under construction and were VERY dirty. The entire resort looks rundown, so I'm glad we didn't stay there. St. Hazard's is perfectly located on the island and has the potential to be a great place, but it currently looks more like a trashy trailer park.

Place is beyond ran down and filthy!!!!! Stayed in a chalet which had construction on both sides of us, with trailer blocking our steps. Porch was covered in filth, bugs, rotting wood, ripped up screens and a grill that was rusted out. Get inside the chalet, bedding looks like it has all been donated, the towels looked like they came from someone’s garage after they washed their car, the SMELL was so musty and horrid, the water in shower/sink/toilet was yellow, there was crumbs n god knows what in between the what felt to be a jail bed n wood frames with plastic hospital like pillows. Then for us all to wake up covered in bites, was quite a surprise.
Get to the pool & hot tub now, which at night time (9:30ish) there was not a single light on in either which was a complete safety hazard, the light from the outdoor bar and Dj area is not enough if your going to allow people in the bodies of water when it is dark out. Plus both were unbelievably packed. Someone else had fallen through the wooden walkway by the little water fountain, which the workers wouldn’t even compensate them with a few free beers, when in reality they could sue!
Plus getting a water with dinner or at the bar might as well not even be an option as it was yellow, probably a huge health code violation!
Alrighty onto the taxi service, which seemed to be terrible as we couldn’t get an answer anytime we attempted to call. So thankfully we made friends with people around us as they also said “good luck they never pick up”.
So overall this place is disgusting, spend the extra money and stay on Kelly’s island or right on PIB!!! Steer clear of this busted ran down “resort”, only leaving 2 stars due to the bartender, server, Dj, and the kind guy who checked us in - which they were all friendly!

If you’re staying in a cabin you need to keep your expectations extremely low. They’re also not all equally appointed so you need to look at the photos to know what you’re getting.
The first time I stayed 2 years ago I think it was cabin 5 and it was a plastic mattress on a wood frame, mini fridge, no microwave, and AC that barely worked. This time was better with a regular mattress (though it was a queen not a full as listed so my sheets didn’t fit), full sized fridge and good AC. But my step to enter my cabin was broken which is a safety hazard, the grill on my site was falling over which made cooking almost impossible, it was infested with enormous ants, and I seriously doubt the blankets provided have ever been washed and the pillows need covers too like the mattress has so we didn’t use them. The bathrooms on premise were being renovated which meant only 2 toilets for the ladies and the showers were not acceptable for me in terms of cleanliness so I showered over at the state park.
But the pool is great and the outdoor bar is fun, they have a DJ at night. (The hot tub really needs to be cleaned though). The shuttle was super helpful for $12 and the folks that run the place are really nice. I think if you have low budget expectations you’ll have a great time. The kids really enjoyed it and for $120 a night on an island with everything they offer it’s not that bad. Some basic upkeeping would really help out and make it more enjoyable as it stands I’d come back I’d just bring some home ant spray lol

With the name Resort in the title, you may expect 4 or 5 star accommodations. Hazards is not The Hilton. What you get are camp chalets, cabins and some of the nicest staff and crew that love where they work and live. It’s the family friendly version of Put In Bay. Adults who are looking to cut loose without the drama you may get elsewhere. Hazards on Middle Bass is a little slice of heaven. You will deal with the nature that comes with island life. So leave those complaints at home. Plenty of bugs. But there is also beautiful wildlife such as swans, eagles and lots of brown rabbits. During the day, cozy up to the pool with plenty of seating. At night, cut loose with live entertainment. The staff will give you plenty of advice on where to explore on the island. And they will be ready with a smile everytime you walk in the front door. I can’t say enough about how fun this place can be.
St Hazards is always a good time. Its kind of an experience in itself. Very laid back and by no means fancy. The pool and outside bar are great on a hot, sunny day. They often have live music. The villas are individually owned, so the quality is variable. Some are well maintained, and others are not. We have always enjoyed our visits, but we know what to expect.Walkability: Although the resort itself is very walkable, I'm pretty sure they provide a shuttle from the ferry. There is also a walking path connecting the marina to the resort.

I highly suggest if you come here to rent a villa from air bnb. The villa we stayed in was awesome and all the locals around us were very friendly and helpful! The staff was also friendly.
